How much are you paying for wine at your venue?

MrsClare, 14 May, 2009 at 17:42 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi there, I am not a regular - was once, but now I am organizing my son's christening!!! The place for the reception is quoting us £13.75 per bottle of house wine. I think thats a bit pricey....what do you think? What are you paying?

Thank you so much

Kind of depends on which wine it is too - do you know?

1/2 a bottle per person is included in the price of our per head package but any additional bottles are £17.50 each for a Fortant Merlot and Sav Blanc.

Went to Calais and bought our own.

Champagne - A bit over a grand for around 100 bottles.

Wine - can't remember exactly how much. 150-200 bottles. Under £500.

    Your all getting good deals!

we are getting ripped off with the wine - its £19.50 per bottle!!!?

but everything else like beers and spirits is quite reasonable

Some of the venues I do allow you to bring in your own wine....then they charge a corkage fee of £10 per bottle....ouch!
