How much are you paying for your DJ?

ames2uk, 3 July, 2011 at 12:53 Posted on Planning 0 8

As the title says, how much are you paying for your DJ?

I've been given a quote of £325 for ours - which is in our budget (i had set aside £350) and he is definitely a good one - he used to have a local radio show and also did the best club nights at our local club so i know he would be ace at getting the party started.

I just wanted to see how this compares - is this the normal price range? I've not yet spoken to him about our requirements - i just want something simple

We are paying £345 for ours (also within budget, as initially we were going to have someone recommended by venue and that was quoted at £375 so that's what we budgeted for).

We are having ex-children CITV and BBC radio presenter Mark Granger whose company Elite Mobile Disco covers Yorkshire and have ace reviews.

That's what we thought! We were impressed with him before we even realised who he was, because only when he sent us a brochure and his website we realised... In fact this was one of the testimonials on his website and brochure:

"As the Associate Producer for YTV, when we need a professional DJ for our end of show celebrations I insist on booking Mark Granger. The last “Frost” wrap party we had at Harewood House in Leeds was fantastic. You are officially David Jason’s favourite DJ! I am more than happy to give any personal recommendations."

Ours was £420 but will be with us from 4 - 11.30pm and will play background music throughout the meal - we have a village hall for our reception with only one main room so we figured it was best if they set up beforehand since if it rains we won't be able to move people out to turn the room around and create space for the evening!

Ours is £250 which I thought was reasonable. I didn't really have a comparison as we had to use the DJ the hotel recommended.
