Following on from Zobo's thread about their wedding venue bargain, I was just wondering what everyone is paying for their venue and what it includes.

Ours is costing us £4000 for a Saturday wedding in July.

The following is included:

Ceremony and function room hire

Canapés

A Champagne cocktail reception drink

A luxurious 5 course Wedding Breakfast with coffee and mints

Two glasses of wine with the meal

A glass of Mercier Champagne for the toast

Evening Finger buffet for 120 guests (only supplying for 90, following the venue's advice)

Chair Covers and Coloured sash of your choice

White linen napkins and table cloths

Dance floor

Red carpet welcome

Cake stand and knife

Wedding host for all the ceremonial duties

Bridal suite (bed & breakfast)

Menu tasting prior to your wedding

We are also having the Bridal Suite the night before so I can check in whatever time I want on the morning of the wedding and my H2B has got a room at the hotel the night before and has got late check out for the day of the wedding.

We're paying £1000 for venue hire - it's exclusive use of the whole place. We've got £35 a head for wedding breakfast, £15 a head for drinkies, and £15 each for the evening buffet. And our own personalised beer of course. But we don't have final numbers yet, so can't put a final figure on it, but we're estimating £4500 for the day.

I can't get over how many extras people are getting as part of their packages!

    Ours is £4750.

includes civil ceremony, red carpet, arrival drinks, 4 course wedding breakfast for 50 people, 2 glasses of wine per person, glass of bubbly for speeches, MC, cake stand and knife, white table linen, barbecue for 100 people in the evening, bridal suite and room the next morning for private breakfast with guests. It's basically exclusive use as they only do 1 wedding per day, the only other guests will be the hotels but apparently there aren't many at weekends.

Gosh isn't it crazy how much a room and food and drink can cost?!

Ours is expensive, mainly due to the fact that we have so many guests - 230 in total. Each table of 10 costs £600 so that's already £13,800 not to mention drinks. I think we've estimated drinks to be about £100 per table as it's BYOB and we're providing some spirits and things so another £2300 at least on top of food costs. Boohoo, and to make it worse we have a second wedding reception the following week. Hoping that it'll be cheaper because it's a buffet though.

Ours is approx £4,000 - dependent on final numbers. For that we have a sat in Aug, use of room fri and sun to put up and take down. It's a huge light room with grounds, a large patio area with seating, a grassy space for the kids to play (we're getting giant games like jenga, plus there is space for a footie game) and our very own lake! It's a three course meal with coffee for approx 90 and an evening buffet for approx 160. The room has a dance floor and its own bar and toilets but there is also a small side room again with a bar which we though people may wish to use if the music is getting too much for them (thinking my stepdad here!) Its also totally suitable for disabled with the patio area outside which is important as my friend needs that.

We're not getting anything like table decs but I want to do my own anyhow and they are happy for us to decorate the room however we want to. They were also really laid back about us changing the menu so we can have exactly what we want which most places within our budget and area seemed less inclined to do. There is also a welcome drink, wine on tables and a toast drink.

For a Saturday in July 2012, we are paying £4,250 for 50 people (negotiated down from £7,500), which includes:

Venue hire (exclusive) for ceremony and reception - this includes a marquee with all the trimmings

    Canapes

    3 course meal

    Ceremony flowers and table flowers

Drink is not included but there is no corkage, so we can serve as much as we wish. Booze cruise it is!

We're paying around £13k. We get the manor house exclusively for 2/3 nights (we can put up our family, I can get ready there, they're throwing us a dinner party thing on the Friday night so the families can spend some informal time together after the rehearsal); fully stocked larder, breakfasts (catered or DIY depending on what we want). We then get the Tithe and other rooms for a reception for c100 people. 3/4 course menu of our creation, staff, all soft drinks & mixers, cutlery, crockery etc. Evening buffet accompaniments to go with our cheese stack.

Lots of other bits and pieces. What's helpful to us is they'll take deliveries all week before hand - we can have our booze, cheese, lighting etc delivered when convenient to us, not to them!

Goes to show that numbers and location have a huge bearing on costs.

Ours is working out around £13,000, which includes exclusive use for the day, reception drinks, canapes, 3 course meal with wine, champagne toast, evening buffet, and the 6 rooms for the night. The rooms are amazing too. That's for 80 guests on a Sat in August. It's way way way over budget, which means that I'm trying to scrimp on everything else in order to keep the whole wedding under the original budget, but I love it so it's worth it.

Ours is 4grand just for venue alone on a Sunday - but it's in August so it obviously hiked up the price but I only want a summer wedding so I am off work with plenty of time to plan and prepare - so for me it is worth it. this does include exclusive use as long as our guests take the rooms, if not there could be random people staying there too but not likely as only a few rooms. Think it gets us things like lighting, tea lights, matching chairs and aisle carpet, cake stand and knife, but the major stuff like catering, decor, flowers, DJ and so on are all on top of that ? Still we have it worked out so that we can do it all for around 10k, and if we really save hard could push the budget to 15k including a luxury honeymoon. Crazy money really!
