How much did you spend on your Tiara?

morristobe, 27 June, 2013 at 16:07 Posted on Planning 0 31

As the header goes really, how much did you spend on your Tiara?

I rushed out and bought one off Ebay for under £20 and now after looking at others I don't think it's what I really wanted and I rushed into it. I've fallen in love with one I saw at a wedding fayre at the weekend and she wants £75 for it but will knock 15% off if I buy this weekend.

I'll try and sell my old one, and will no doubt sell this one after the wedding but it seems a lot to me. I'd love to know how much everyone else has spent in comparison

My budget now after everything else is pretty much non existent - however I can make cut backs in the coming weeks to pay for it so im not losing out.

I think you ladies have talked me into it. I need to stop beating around the bush and buy it while the 15% off offer is on x

Bonnie100 - you have made me feel sooo much better! Mine was £250. I had not idea how much you should spend on tiaras so thought this was pretty normal until I told my friends who all thought I was crazy, it is beautiful tho!

Well I've bitten the bullet and ordered my tiara :-) Sounds like a bargain compared to a few of yours...£75 reduced to £63.75.

    Can't wait until it arrives.

I not bought a tiara, but my hair piece cost £14. handmade by a lady who works with my friend.

but my soon-to-be sister-in-law spent like £200 plus on hers. i couldnt justify spending that much, if it would have fitted me i would have worn it (something borrowed) but my head is too small, main reason not bought tiara.

    £20 for a market stall

ripped it off the head band, got a hair grip from primark for £1, just need to reattached a comb to it and 2 or 3 sets of pearls or dynamites to make this a half-crown.

so £40 buy the end i estimate.

I've just spent £91 on one from the tiara bar after realising the one I won is too plain and small. I went to a bridal styling event and they did my hair and put a big, sparkly one on me and I fell in love. It was £230 though and I knew I could get very similar ones for less so have done. For something that will be in every single picture of me I'm happy to spend that much!!!

The one thing I would say on this is if you see one in a wedding shop and fall in love with it.....go direct to the designer. I used to have my work in a few bridal shops until I realised they were putting at least 100% mark up on them.

I do appreciate that shops have to make money too; however that to me was an extreme mark up. Of course not all shops will be that high! But it's worth checking out. I always think it's good to look too, as the shop might not have all of the designs from a designer.

I'm planning on getting a Jo Barnes one! It's 15% off at the moment so I might buy this week. It feels scary spending so much but my fmil has offered to pay! X
