How much do you flowers match?

4 September, 2012 at 09:12 Posted on Planning 0 9

Does your bouquet match your bridesmaids, and then all of those match your venue flowers?

Or have you done a bit of mix-match?

I quite like when the brides is different from the bridesmaids, but then can't decide whose flowers you would copy in venue - probably bridesmaids as cheaper ;-)

My bouquet is a lot bigger than my bridesmaids, I have about 20 diffrent sized roses in shades of ivory and pale pinks, with little white flowers called white bouvardia tucked in between. The bridesmaids are having 7 roses, similar to mine, but no white bouvardia. The groom is having a couple of roses, so he will match, but the mums are having freesia corsages so they will look different!

As for the venue flowers, that's actually included in our package at the venue, so I will just give them a picture of what I'm having and they will vaguely match! They will include similar roses to what I'm having but they are from a different florist so won't 'match' really... I'm not too bothered! I'm sure they will look good whatever they comes out like! xx

I had 12 white gerberas with bear grass and my BMs had a smaller version (9 gerberas with no bear grass)

The tables were the same but smaller too, each table was a different colour gerbera (red, hot pink, baby pink, yellow, orange etc....)

I'm having large green orchids, purple power roses (I love that name) and green chrysanthemums with some eucalyptus leaves. My bridesmaids are having smaller lime green orchids, some purple power roses, green chrysanthemums and adding in some white lisianthuston to break up the colour (my bridesmaids are wearing peacock/steel blue). The venue flowers will be the same. My centrepieces are fish bowls with purple power roses Smiley surprise) I suppose it all ties in somehow

I'm having a shower bouquet with open roses and the bridesmaid are having more closed roses that are tighter togther, little BM's are having heart with a spray of flowers on. Venue table arrangements are tall martini vases with totally some roses and other bits in all the same colour but apart from they are all very different.

It's not set in stone, but my plan is to have Ranunculus & other "soft/fluffy" flowers in my bouquet & then a smaller, simpler version for the bm's and I'm going totally different with tulips as the centerpieces!

I had a teardrop shaped boquet & my BM just a hand held posie. Both had the same flowers including roses & orchids, but I also had additional orchids which were more expensive in mine. The table centres also had the same orchids but the cheaper ones that were on both bouquets.

I think as long as there is some consitencey, (either a few similar flowers, or a similar shade, or similar shapes) then people wont really notice any differences.

my bouquet matched the BMs, and the yellow flowers from mine were also used around the venue and on the wedding breakfast tables.

our table centrepieces were tulip vases with nlossom trees. x
