Luck i think. they guy was just really kind and did us an incredible deal. think the whole winter wedding aspect helped. we've been VERY lucky and blessed with amazing suppliers and it makes me sad to think that after the wedding they won't be in my life because some of them have begun to feel like friends.....

however there certainly are deals to be found/struck so shop around. if you go to wedding fairs many tog's and vog's do discounts for on the day bookings.....

Holy crap, if I spent that much on a photographer I'd have a heart attack lol! Mine is £395 for photographer and not having video. May also pay £100 or £200 on an album/photobook from him which is really nice but not sure yet.

We are £800 for bridal prep to 2 hours after ceremony and they will come to reception and do a faux cake cutting to get pictures. We also get an album and a framed pic, photo website, cd with images and pre wedding shoot.

We're not having a VOG but paid £700 for bridal prep to 1 hour after 1st dance. We got quite a good deal but our TOG was really enthusiastic about shooting our venue!!

Good luck finding your TOG, just a suggestion, Daffodil Waves are incredible, if she wasnt so far out of our budget range I'd have snapped her up, plus shes a lovely person too!!

I paid £1200 for my TOG for disc only (inc pre wedding shoot). That was two years ago - she charges £1400 for the same package now. (East Midlands area).

I'm usually pretty good at sussing out what the abbreviations mean, but some one help me out with a TOG? I've seen it pop up so often and have no idea what it means? its gonna be something really obvious and I know I'm going to have a "Doh!" moment when I hear it.

He is an independent photographer that I found in our local area (dorset/somerset). We get him from 13:00-20:30 and a CD and print. I didn't look for specific companies because I found these so expensive at the wedding fairs and things. Hope this helps.

    PhoTOGrapher Smiley smile

There's a list of abbreviations on the Welcome to wedding planning thread - https://www.hitched.co.uk/chat/forums/t/246443.aspx

Also - Nic (Daffodil Waves) is awesome.

Ours is £1000 each. Have you thought about potentially not having all the photos with a photographer package and using it as a wedding gift idea. We got our photographer to do us a deal (nearly 50% off) by cutting out the work envolved in making a photo album and only paying for half the prints in the package. He is doing a gift list for us to the cost of the photo album plus prints for guest to pay toward. We'll contribute the rest if its not met tho, gives us a little more time to save money etc.

Ours should be £995 for a wedding and engagement shoot, with photos burned to disc afterwards. Because he's a friend, he's offered to do it for free! Smiley smile.

Seems you pay for what you get i think. Thing is with this if you pay someone a 'bargain' price you may well get some poor photos and it's one day you don't want this to happen!

£595 for TOG and we're getting 400+ images on disk (in two sizes) covering from grooms party arriving, through to second dance/evening guests arriving. £599 for VOG, covering same period - think we've got good deals, both have given us 2013 prices for a 2015 wedding

We are paying £695 for our package, that is all day (as she would have been at our wedding anyway) and photos on disc. Should have been £995 but as she is a friend she has done it slightly cheaper.
