Ouch!! well it all depends on budget really and everyone has different amounts that they can afford to lay out. For me personally, my budget really was no more than £600 as we are paying for the entire wedding ourselves and have lots of other things to pay out for.

It totally depends on your budget!!

I went dress shopping having in mind i didn't want to spend more than 1k on a dress, i found my dress and was 900, i didn't order it straight away and when i went back it had gone up to 1.1k....i cried in the shop!!!

Mum offered to pay the extra 200 though but had she not i would have paid it......

Well mine was £950 and I thought that was about right tbh.

£2k would be too much for me to spend regardless of how nice it was.

I think everyone has a different budget and a different value of money (and different funds available) so its hard to answer really.

If £2k is doable for you and you love it then why not?

It depends on your budget really

    i've given my self £600 - 700

even though MIL2B is giving me £500

towards it, i can't bring myself to spend that

much money on a dress i'll wear once ☹️

    i wish i could though.

If money was no object then I would buy whatever one i like the most, regadless of price.

If you love it and can afford it then buy it! If you can then dont. Simples.

My mum told me £1200 was my limit, and i decided with OH b4 going shopping if it cost more we could put the rest 2 it, although not going any higher than £2000 in total. I never looked at 1 price tag, decided on the one i loved said 'i'll take it' much 2 my mums horror as i didnt ask the price!!..........and it was £800!! Good result 4 mum n dad!!

I originally set myself a limit of £1300 (said £1000 to the dress shop) but eventually decided to go preloved to save a bit of money.

I origionally didn't want to spend more that £600. However i didn't tell the shop that thought I'd try them on and see. I fell in love with my dress, and she started the sentence well it was £1300.... however it was reduced to £675 as she was stopping stocking that designer so she was having a clear out. I can stretch an extra £75 so i got my perfect dress at a perfect price...all good.

I'm lucky in a sense as my personal taste in dresses isn't overly fancy. I can appreciate the white or ivory heavily detailed dresses sure, but for me personally it's simple and speaks volumes about me. So my dress cost me £150, and you will see flashes *hopefully* at the weekend!

I went looking for dresses knowing I loved dresses upto £1500. I would have paid it too tbh.. In the end, I found mine for less than that so see it as a bonus!

I didn't look at any dresses over £1000 if the price tag was visible because although my mum and dad were paying for it, I thought over £1k was a bit much - unless it had been the only dress I loved!

In the end mine cost £950 but managed to get it for £775.

It really does depend on what you can afford. I originally didnt want to spend any more than about £800 on mine, luckily i found the perfect dress and it was a sample for much less. But if you love it and have to have it go for it ?

I didn't really have a budget for my dress as I knew nothing about how much a dress costs - I knew my mom had £800 towards it and I'd have to put the rest. In honesty, if it was the one, i'd have probably gone to £2,000 without it being a *really big* decision i'd have to have discussed with H2b, perhaps more with H2b's agreement.

In the end, mom's contibution more than covered it.

I found mine for less than my budget in the end, as I managed to get the bridal store to sell me their sample. If I had fallen in love with a dress way out of budget, I would have looked for it second hand. No-one will know!

It really depends on your budget and what you can really afford.

I fell in love with my dress and it was originally £2200 but I managed to negotiate it down to £2000 including fittings. I have no regrets as I love the dress and it made me feel fantastic. I tried on others and every one I compared to the one I bought, none of the dresses were in the same league as far as I was concerned. If you can afford it, go for it!

Mine cost a lot but its a custom made Vera Wang and I went to New York to have it made, ive always dreamt about it and this is hopefully my one and only chance of doing it so i thought why not!! It will also be a one off just for me so no one else will ever wear my dress again which i like the thought of!

My dress was more than i wanted to spend at £1200. But i loved it and knew it was the one. I phoned around all the stockists and managed to get it, brand new for £880 from an authroised Benjamin Roberts stockist.

They had a special weekend on when i phoned with an extra 10% off their prices.

If you really love the dress, shop, shop, shop around and you may be surprised how much cheaper you can actually get the dress for.

I think I'd have spent up to £4500 for the 'right' dress. I've spent less than that and am very happy with my choice!

You should spend what you can afford and feels right for you.
