How old for disneyland??

Mrs Vineweevil, 14 October, 2009 at 15:56 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

Just wondering what sort of age might be the best to take a munchkin. LO is 4 next year but I still think that might be a bit young (unless anyone can tell me otherwise....?)

I would looooove to go back and it is so bloomin expensive to go somewhere in europe that I might aswell go somewhere nice

We went in may with my 3yr old and 1yr old and they both loved it. So much so we have booked to go back in may.

My 4yr old talks about it everyday and remembers so much.

I thought it was such a lovely age to take them as the innocence thing was there. The look on his face when we saw the first parade was one of magic. It brought my H to tears. Meetine mickey for the first time was magical as well. He ws so excited he jumped all the way to cuddle him.

If you go in june/july/aug and stay at a disney hotel they are offering free disney dinning plan. We are going to a villa and have 2 nights booked in the animal kingdom lodge. A fab website that has loads of info is www.thedibb.co.uk. There are loads of people over there who own villas and rent them out at great prices.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am not sure whether O would be afraid of the characters rather than wanting to cuddle them, but I can imagine the moment they see the parades, makes me emotional to just think about it. Nice to know that your 3 yr old remembers it, that wasw another one of my concerns. Will take a look at the website.

    Thanks again

H went when he was 6 and his sister 3, he had a ball, but his sister who was an ultra shy kid hated it. She cried a lot and spent most of the time hiding behind her mums legs, even in the photos she's all snotty and miserable looking.

They went again when she was 8 and she loved it.

Have taken both of my boys when they were 6 for the first time (Assuming you mean WDW Florida) You need to balance the wait times and youngsters and also if you need a "stroller" (Pushchair) - At 6 boys could do a day but were mostly worn out at about 4pm daily

My 2 kids are now 7 and 11 and have both been going to Orlando since they were 18 mths old.

Next feb will be our 6th trip.. there is something for all ages, you see and do different things every trip. This year was the 1st year we were able to go on all the rides as a family, but we have still enjoyed previous trips.

My youngest wasnt keen on characters till he was 3, but a character breakfast where he couldnt escape soon sorted that out lol ..

We always go in Feb so the parks are fairly quiet and wait times no more than 20 mins and whilst it is still hot (usually in the 80's) its not too over-powering.

If your only ever going to go once then i would wait until your child is 8 or 9 and can experiance everything there is too offer... if like us you are going to go more often then i would say go for it.

We went to Paris when Tom was 4 and Joe was 2.5 (Izzy was a 21 week bump ?), it was fab.

We're going to Florida May next year and cannot wait. Tom will be just 7, Joe 5 and Izzy 2 years 4 months. Planning to go again when they're much older for the rides but this next trip is for the 'magic'!

We took my son in June and he was 4, he LOVED it, brilliant age to go, he was tall enough for most of the rides, we went to Euro Disney, hoping to go to Florida when he's about 10.
