How reliable is Smooch delivery? NEW UPDATE - DELIVERED & FLASH

judeclarke, 20 August, 2011 at 18:59 Posted on Planning 0 20

To all the brides and OMs who bought rings from Smooch? How reliable is their delivery?

I had a text on Tuesday to say my rings would be delivered on Saturday (today). On Wednesday I got a text to say my card had been refused (long story short - cc conmpany didn't know why - it was just random) so my OH phoned them and paid with his. So everything should have been fine.

I waited in all morning, and no delivery. Not only am I miffed that I waited in for nothing, but I'm concerned in case Royal Mail have lost our rings. And of course Smooch HQ is closed on Saturdays, so I can't get hold of anyone.

Did anyone else have issues with delivery?

(BTW I am changing credit cards - had enough of the guys I'm with)

**see page 2 for update**

Jude, I only popped on to see if your rings have arrived.

    I'm sorry they haven't come.

Ours arrived this morning. I would flash but I left my camera on the ship, and the rings are safe at home for the moment. Fingers crossed they arrive Monday. Give Smooch a ring on Monday to see if they will trace the pack.

I was texted the week before you 9th August, and made payment that week for delivery today. I wonder if they've got your week wrong?

I'll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Karen

    Hi judeclarke,

I'm really sorry your rings haven't turned up, I'll check my self with head office to find out where the problem is first thing today, but please don't worry, we'll get things sorted for you.

I know this is not any help to you now, but if any other customers have issues on Saturdays, you can email me (**@***********.****) or Malcolm from head office (**@***********.****) with any urgent enquiries as we do check our emails over the weekend.

Again, please don't panic, we'll get to the bottom of this for you today.

    Laura x

Thanks Laura, I'll be ringing HQ myself at 9am sharp anyway. I did consider emailing you, but thought there was not much point as royal mail don't operate at weekends either - not much could have been done on Saturday afternoon anyway.

Update - just spoken to Smooch - rings were definatley sent, their system says Royal Mail delivered on Saturday, and signed for by someone I have never heard of!

Looks like the police might have to get involved...☹️

But in any case, Smooch have said they can remake the rings if needed.

Just checked with all the neighbours - none of them even saw a van on Saturday. I think we have a dishonest mail guy - this is the 2nd parcel in 2 weeks to go missing. I will be contacting royal mail myself.

Thanks for your support ladies. At the moment it's in the hands of Royal Mail internal investigators - there's nothing I can do but wait.

Smooch have been very helpful - they are as concerned as I am.

What a truly awful thing to happen. I'm really pleased that Smooch are helping you out but this is something that shouldn't happen. We should be able to rely on our postal service. I hope that the thief can be identified and punished.

I also hope your rings can be sorted out in plenty of time so you don't have to worry about them!

That's rubbish! I'm glad that Smooch are being supportive but it sounds like Royal Mail need to sort this out. Even if the postie isn't dishonest, the rings have been delivered to the wrong address & need to be traced ASAP. If it is the postie then that is truely awful & I hope Royal Mail remove him from his job immediately.

    **UPDATE**

Our rings arrived today ??? (Jude and Simon breathing big signs of relief here!)

    And they are beautiful:

Its a great relief that they are not lost or stolen, but I still want to know where they have been for the last 3 days. Royal Mail are still investigating, lets hope we have some kind of explanation eventually.

    They really do look lovely.

I'm so pleased it has worked out in the end!! And what lovely rings, no wonder you were devastated when you thought they were lost - they're fabulous, and I love that shot of them together.

Let us know if Royal Mail give you any explanation!

I'm so pleased they've turned up at long last.

My heart was in my mouth for you, so you must have been going out of your head wondering where they were.

They are really nice. Yours compliments your ER really well.
