How soon should i send invites?

I'm getting married 27th june this year. We only got engaged at xmas so are not planning this very far in advance and therefore not sent out "save the date" cards or anything. We've told immediate family and those we want in the wedding party that the date is set but no one else. How soon should we be sending out the invites? I'm going to be making them myself so need to know how long i've got to get them done!! :-)

Hi ya

The rule is no less than 6 weeks but that isn't really long enough, so the average is 12 weeks/3 months. So you should be looking to send them out end of March really. You need to also think about when your venue/caterer requires the final numbers. Some places request these a month in advance so they can issue the invoice so the bill is paid in advance.

Hiya- im getting married in feb and my final numbers have to be with my reception 2 weeks before so i have given myself 6 weeks in total.invites went out end of dec and with people 1st jan...rsvp date 23rd jan (so that gave them 3 weeks 2 reply wich i feel is plenty of time)then i have a week to chase people if they havent replied.hope this helps. i wouldnt send too early or else peoplewill put it aside and 4get
