How the day runs.

jessica_jayne, 7 February, 2012 at 19:46 Posted on Planning 0 5

Apologies if this has already been done recently, but could you tell me your timings of your day from getting married to the last good bye, especially those who are having a civil ceremony in the same venue as their wedding breakfast and evening reception.

Currently signing venue contract and booking registrar, so need to decide on time to get married for it to run smoothly.. it is an August wedding as well.

Thank you xx

Civil ceremony at 3:00pm ceremony will be finished by 3:30 at the latest probably only takes 15 mins in reality (not having any reading poems or anything).

Wedding breakfast starts at 5:00pm so allows an hour and half for Photos and champagne reception from 3:30-5:00

Wedding breakfast finished by 7:00 we not having speeches other then us giving a quick thank you to our guests. We also having a 6 courses menu.

Evening reception start from 7:00 cake cutting at 8:00

Evening entertainment food etc from 8:30

    11:30- goodnight.

The time you need to allocate for dinner will depend on the amount of guests and the amount of courses your are having.

    We're having everything in the same venue, these aren't set timings yet but it'll go something like;

    2pm - ceremony

    2:30pm - welcome drinks, photo's etc

    4pm - wedding breakfast 3 courses

6pm - speeches (might be earlier depending on how quick food is served etc.)

7pm - cut the cake (that sounds quite late to me, might do it earlier?)

    7:30pm - first dance

    11pm - night night

    12pm - music etc. stops

Almost exactly this, but with the first dance at 7:15. My evening guests are invited to arrive for 7, which is also when my day guests will be escorted through the castle to the restaurant where the dancing is. My husband (yay) and I will come through 15 minutes later to make our grand entrance across the drawbridge and as soon as we come in we'll go straight into our first dance, and the music won't stop until midnight, except for pauses for the speeches. I want my guests to be dance dance dancing the night away as much as they want, as far as I'm concerned, the music should go all night Smiley smile
