how to ask bridesmaids?

wifey_for_lifey, 6 December, 2015 at 19:15 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hiya

I am wanting a nice little gift or unique way of asking my bridesmaids to be a part of our wedding. I am wanting to do this as part of their Christmas presents.

Does anybody have any ideas please?

Thanks x

I didn't do anything nice ? I asked my brother (man of honour) over lunch months before we got married if it would be something he'd ever do for me, the other over a brew, one by phone and the other in a nightclub! (She'd just moved back home and we went on a night out, it was the earliest I could ask all night!)

I do wish I'd made it a but special though.

What about those little mini cakes with 'bridesmaid?' Iced onto them?

I sent mine personalised cards from Moonpig. I got photos from our lives together (one is my sister, one is my oldest friend), and added a nice note well one was nice, one was funny! Different relationships with both. For my sister, i did more soppy, which was Stand With Me, Plan with me, laugh with me, cry with me and then inside it said Please be my bridesmaid? And then for my best friend, I put They say I'll need someone to hold my dress while I pee...please be my bridesmaid!

    They both loved them!!!

I gave my MOH a locket with a picture of the two of us and a tiny folded note with a funny verse ending with "will you be my MOH?"

My two adult bridesmaids I just asked over drinks but for my little cousin I've got a lip balm from Etsy with 'Will you be my Bridesmaid?' on it. I think it looks really sweet and I'm going to give it to her at Christmas. There were loads of ideas on Etsy. If I'd wanted to do the gifts for my friends as well I might have gone with personalised wine bottles, of which there are quite a lot around.

I wrote a poem asking my bridesmaids. Hand wrote them onto lovely paper and posted them Smiley smile
For our flower girl we bought a balloon from etsy with "will you be my flower girl?" Written on it. Was full of petals and very cute!

I made photo collage card for each of my BM's with my favourite photos of us on it and put on the bottom "I can't say I do without you" and then inside it said "will you be my bridesmaid?"

To echo what others have said, I think the best places to look are etsy, not on the highstreet, pintrest and eBay

I got all 5 of my girls one of these necklaces. You can select a card to go in them which the necklace is then presented on Smiley smile

The seller is really quick and I've never had any issues Smiley smile
