How to find someone i've lost touch with?

miss.understood, 25 May, 2011 at 23:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

Trying to figure out how i can track an old friend down. Lost touch with him about 5 or 6 years ago and always wondered how he's doing. He used to be seeing my best friend, though me and him were friends for a year before i hooked them up Smiley smile

Anyway, i've tried:

Facebook

Friends Reunited

Myspace

Bebo

etc etc

and the only place i found him is Flickr. He has an account on there and i have emailed, but he hasn't updated his pics etc in 19 months :/ and i have no way of knowing if he'll get the email.

I tried 192.com which came up with him but then it wants me to pay near 10quid to get an address he was at in 2002. I know the address is his parents address as that ties in with when he left london to move in with my friend.

Anyway, can anyone think of anything that might help?

He's called Aaron James Oxford, will be in his early to mid 30's ish now. He lived in London and worked on the tour buses as a driver. In case anyone knows someone fitting the description.

TIA xxx

I don't have any other ideas as you've tried all the things I would suggest.

Have you got any mutual friends that would be able to get in contact with him for you?

Hope you manage to contact him x

If you know his parents address and you've got on ok with them, could you possibly ask them to forward on a letter to him, or perhaps they could ask him to contact you?

Don't know what else to suggest, that you haven't already tried.

    Good Luck!

Haven't got any mutual friends i'm afraid. I found his name and rough location on 192.com but then to try and get his address i had to register with 192.com and it wants to charge me a minimum of near 10quid just to get one address Smiley sad

It's very frustrating. If i could get the address i would ask that the letter be forwarded to him or returned to me if there is no forwarding address for him. xx

Bit stalkerish but you could write to all the tour bus companies in London!

Data protection act would mean they couldn't and wouldn't tell you.

I would pay the £10 if I was that desperate.

If you know roughly where he was in 2002, and that it was/is his parents address could you try finding him on old copies of the electoral role? Might be worth a call to the local registry office to see if theres a way of doing it without forking out huge amounts of cash. AFAIR 192.com gets their info from there in the first place..... certainly that's the only possible way that they could have the info of my ex living at my address - he was only here for about 6/8 weeks before he did his disappearing act FFS?

If myself or my hubby were working and the household income was better than it is then i probably wouldn't mind no, but with being 30 weeks pregnant and so much going out on baby things as well as the general run of the house and upkeep money isn't exactly overflowing.
