How to go about picking your wedding shoes?

Bamboozledbride, 27 February, 2015 at 16:13 Posted on Planning 0 11

My wedding dress is "prom length" so you will be able to see my shoes. The problem is I have no idea how to go about picking a pair that will match nicely and not look odd against my hem line.

I've seen shoes online and in shops that look nice but without buying lots of pairs and taking them back if they don't go with my dress I'm not sure how to match the two.

Any tips ladies?

You could order lots online ( I do it with everything) and then send all back that you dont want. Use someone who does free delivery & free returns

I'm not sure what length prom is, any chance of a flash so we can get a better feel, even just the bottom of the dress or an example of a different dress? As a general rule you'll want shoes that elongate not cut off, so no straps that cut across your ankle for example. I'd definitely be looking at places that do free delivery and returns so you can order a few and try them

I currently have four pairs! I am trying on the dress on Saturday and taking the shoes with me. I will send back the ones I don't want. I think that is your best option.

    Hi,

What style of Prom is it? Is it tea length? If so then a cute pair of low heels would look beautiful thinks 1950's style.

Sorry for the late reply! I hope this pic helps it's the bottom of my dress . I'm wearing some strappy gold sandals that I already own just to see how they went with it x

I ordered 10 pairs online, paid with my credit card and then after a week of deciding I returned 8 to the shops and got the refund before my credit card bill is due. I kept two pairs, one pretty, one comfy backup pair. Smiley smile

Ive not used them yet but elegant steps do free delivery and free return for the first 2 pairs. Am looking for shoes myself at the minute and, cant decide between the ones I love but will be unable to walk in for more than an hour, and ones that I really like...decisions decisions.. lol

    Hi,

Cute dress, I'd go for an enclosed kitten heel or a ballerina shoe as it is a very balletic feel to it.

What about sling backs? Not the best picture granted as I'm on my phone but you still see enough of your feet without 'too much' feet on show.

I went for a statement shoe but it did take me month's to find them! They are also can't be returned as they are hand painted just waiting for them to arrive.
