How to tone abs???

Bellabop, 28 August, 2008 at 14:45 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 4

Hi, I have been doing SW for about 14wks and have lost just under 1.5stone so am really pleased with my weight loss (about 10lbs to get back to goal). I run x3 per week but don't exercise other than that and want to focus more on my abs, they are a mess after gaining a huge amount of weight during pregnancy (4 stone).

What's the best way to focus on this area? I know I need to continue to lose fat before the toning will show. Thanks in advance .x.x.x.x.

Pilates is great for the abs, or if like me you prefer cardio how about swimming? I appreciate how difficult it is to exercise with a baby, though.

I would suggest you do planks and side planks - easy enough to do in your own home. Google for "planks abs" or something similar and you should find a demonstration of what I mean.

Have a go at the Tae Bo Glutes & Abs DVD - I haven't done enough to see the effect yet, but once is enough to feel that it's doing something ?

As others have said Pilates is great too if you stick at it. I went to a few sessions at my gym, but 6-7 on a Friday night is not ideal for me. If I'm not going out, I'm often so knackered that I'm in bed at 8.

Pilates abs exercises. I have a 20odd min DVD by Ana Caban which I am trying to do most days and is really good. Plus, at just over 20mins it is quite easy to fit into the day.
