How to wear in shoes ?

I love my shoes but they are blummin high and a tad snug ! I have a pair of socks on at the mo and am wearing them in the house but am a bit nervous given that I have 3 kids and a dog who I don't want to have step on them ! But with socks on not tooooooooooo bad but obviously can't on the day lol Any tips for breaking them in ?

    Socks would be my only idea too....can't you buy shoe stretchers?!

    I nicked a pair of overshoes from the swimming baths to put over my shoes! Then I could wear them with socks on when doing the ironing ?

    Give the insides a wipe out though before putting them over your shoes!

    I read that as you don't want to have to step on the kids and dog! Sorry!

    How about you wear another pair of socks over them too to keep them clean, or that might make them really slidey to walk in? As someone said, a pair of overshoes may be best, that you can get at gyms. They are basically like showercaps, so perhaps you could use cheap showercaps too if you can't get overshoes?
