HRML - Are tights acceptable attire yet?

RubyBlue, 6 September, 2009 at 19:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

It's my first day back at school with the children (who are an ultra difficult bunch) tomorrow, and I want to wear an 'I mean business' outift that I feel comfortable in. I was thinking my new Primarni grey dress, thick tights and my new favourite boots, which are flattie riding style. Is it still too early in the season to wear tights?

Please, no 'your day, your way hon' ?

Tights as opposed to what? I don't think I understand the question!

    Did they become unacceptable?!

Usually I have a 'no opaque tights' rule from end of April to beg of Sep but for the first time I remember I saw lots of black tights wearers in July & Aug.

    I say go for it!

I've been wearing tights all summer. There are people in my office who seem to think I want to see a lot more of their legs than I actually do - and the only way I can complain about this is by wearing tights myself!

Lol - sorry, I meant tights instead of nothing - well bare legs, not nakedness ?

I am going to wear tights but not boots, thank you!

I say go for it! The weather is so changeable it's difficult to know what to put on in the mornings. When out and about I see people in all sorts from summer dresses and shorts to people in thick coats and boots! I bought some Ugg boots a while ago and I'm desperate to wear them but I was also worried about whether it was 'right' just yet lol.

I would pretty much never go bare legged to work. Always tights or stockings (or, as am sexy, pop socks)

Am wearing grey wooly knitted tights today (am hot stuff clearly) from H&M and they are the most comfy things EVER

    Highly recommend.

Although is apparently going to be 27 degrees in London tomorrow so I may not wear them tomorrow

Pop socks ?...I have been known to wear them under trousers with shoes (never boots) but due to my fat calves, they tend to cut off my blood supply. I wore tights and shiny black shoes. I am now wondering what the bloomin' heck to wear during tomorrow's mini heatwave! x

I hope it's acceptable. I am wearing royal blue tights today.

I think it's totally acceptable, although I have just one problem today. I have mine on and so does dd (she's 3 and likes to copy her mummy) but I didn't see the weather forecast until I heard it on the radio on the way to the child minder that it's going to be bloomin' hot today!

Where is the heat wave meant to be? I am in Oxon and it is cold, grey clouds and windy

I've just looked on www.weather.co.uk and it's forecasting a high of 22degs for us in Hampshire, and 24degs for London.

I have to say you'd never guess to look out of my office window, grey and nasty at the moment.
