Thanks for posting this HH and ? to you and everyone else who is missing their dads today.

It is my 4th Fathers Day without. I miss him so much but am so lucky to have such happy memories. My two beautiful children help me keep my mind off things but I really wish they had had the chance to meet their Grampy ?

Much love to you all. The kids did little pictures on post it notes & stuck them to Dad's urn in the lounge.

Today would have been my Parents 40th Wedding Anniversary - So we thought we would celebrate it for Mum. We decided to buy her a bracelet & had 2 Ruby's set in amoungst diamonds. The Ruby's were from my Dad's Aunt & they were left to me & my sister when she died.

This is my first Fathers' Day without my Dad. Spent the weekend with the in-laws, which was lovely, but have just felt really detached today and incredibly tired. Came home to an e-mail from my sister telling me the gravestone was put in place on Friday and she's planted a small flowering bush from both of us today. She sent me some photos. Made me feel like I should have been there.

I have avoided this thread since it was posted in a really poor bid to just not think about it. It doesn't really work though. Random weirdy internet hugs to all who need them, particularly you, Melancholie.

    Hugs to all.

And hugs too to those whose Dad is still alive but, for whatever reason, is not 'there' for them. I saw my Dad today, but schizophrenia stole him long ago.

    Thinking of you all.

Almost 18 years since I was a 20 year old student on my year in Germany, taking "that" telephone call. Still feels like yesterday.

I didn't come on yesterday as was spoiling my hubby!

Huge ? to everyone who didn't have their dad with them yesterday for whatever reason.

It's nearly 6 years since I lost my dad and yesterday was quite emotional. I couldn't face going to his grave so I just thought about him at home and talked to my son about him (my dad died 3 days after I found out I was pregnant - and 3 weeks after my wedding). My son was a great comfort.

It was the first father's day without my dad - he passed away 7 weeks ago. I saw a lovely card in the card shop last week, which had the most perfect verse in it. I wasn't sure whether I should buy it or not so left the shop. I then went back and got it. Visited the grave yesterday with the card and some flowers but didn't say anything to mum in case it upset her. She then went to see him last night and phoned me up to ask if I'd put the flowers there and then started crying saying how lovely of me it was. My younger brother went to the grave on his own yesterday and to be honest that just breaks my heart, he's being so brave. So yesterday was rather tough and my thoughts are with you all. Hugs to everyone x
