Huiyunkitty aka Birmingham Lady; she's only gone and done it again!!!

Mrs_T2B, 19 January, 2011 at 18:18 Posted on Planning 0 76

Well ladies what can I say...she's done it again, and made me two more beautiful bridesmaid dresses!?

This lady continues to amaze me with not only her bargainous dresses, but her fantatsic workmenship and skills!

I ordered a sample dress as some of you may know in November which came on Xmas Eve and was stunning! I ordered 2 more dresses from her on the 2nd January and they came today!

The quality of these dresses is second to none, the sizing is pretty accurate (give or take an inch or so), and the overall finished product is stunning!

Here's a few pics for you to have a gander at.

I'm definately going to her for my dresses. Just out of interest, has anyone on here had a chiffon dress from her?

They look great! What a bargain too. Are you going to get them adjusted to fit perfectly, or are you going to leave that extra inch for all the food the bridesmaids will eat in the evening? Did it take her long to make?

I need to go an see this lady soon, she's only a 20minute journey but so lazy to drive!

My mum is very good self taught seamstress so can take them in if needs be the week before. When I said 'give an inch or two' I mean't literally a teeny bit but this could be down to my bridesmaids shape...I'm not a dressmaker so not 100% accurate on sizing ?

No it didn't take long to make (see my original post for time scales), and I ordered them from her eBay shop and only had contact with her over email. I took a gamble and it 100% paid off and saved me hundreds of £'s! Hope this helps ?

    Thank you 3d Jewellery x

Im emailing her now to have mine made. Am a bit worried as all of the ones I have seen of yours are long dresses and mine are going to be tea length. Any one had any shorter dresses from her?

    They're lovely.

I ordered mine this week - going for chiffon knee length with the flowers up one shoulder. Cant wait now!

Can I ask if you sent her a deposit first with the sizes as she hasn't asked for one.

Was that really the price you paid for them?? Would you say that they're any worse quality than ones that you'd order from a 'proper' bridal shop?

    Does she do any style?

Sorry for all the questions [:I]

They are good quality and good price- i got 3 for just under £100. but mine took 11 weeks to get to me as she completly messed up the order. this was instead of the quoted 5 weeks.

also she is off in feb- so if you want to order, bear that in mind

the quality is good- good heavy lining

well ive still got the girls dresses to order and get a dress fr my FG

i need to get the rest of the lads measured up for their suits - we've picked and paid lol

need to finalse things with the decorations and the venue , as were no longer having a sit down meal ( ive been ill so had to cut things down due to finances )

oh yes and i suppose the most important is to get a dress - not been dress shopping at all , as ive been il having panic attacks and they've been restriciting me from going out but thats another story lol

If you send her a message on eBay she usually gets back to you pretty quickly but I'm sure she will do other styles!

Yes they really were £32.99 each and £5.99 postage each. I would highly recommend her; she's brilliant and for that price you really can't grumble.

picking up wedding rings in the morn Smiley smile

the only thing i asked hubby2be to do was sort the suits- of course he hasnt done it yet- so will be hassling to do them- but we know we are hiring from moss bros so thats a start lol

getting my dress altered in march- i got that march 2010 lol

My plan at the moment is:

    4pm cermoney

4.30 photos, and poker table, giant jenga and giant connect4. in this time guests can get drinks from bar. also we are having a sweet table (homemade) dj playing background music

6.30 maybe 7- evening guest arrive (we are only having about 7 extra)

7ish speeches, cutting the cake (we are having one tier, and cupcakes)

    7.30 open buffet

8.30 first dance and then open dance floor

12 dj leaves and guests leave- or go to other bar if they are staying

we are having a civil cermoney in a hotel- it has 25 rooms, so far 15 of them are booked by our guests Smiley smile so we should have the whole hotel.

re my dress- there is a story there-! well i saw an ad in the local paper from a hospice who had been donated a brand new designer dress, in order to get the hospice more well known. and i brought it!- it was £250! so i am taking it to a dress makers in march, i took it to her in july last year- but have been on a diet since so it may need alterating
