Flowmojo, 5 August, 2013 at 13:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

So I didnt get the previous job at the charity (who think I am apparently over qualified..going from full time to part time, its going to come up!!) however I have an interview tomorrow for a PT role at the husband previous place of work..and it just so happens he met someone he used to work with at lunchtime to get the low down. They have only got me to interview so far!!!!?

Gah. "Overqualified" is the biggest load of gash I've ever heard...I've had that one before too! Surely they'd want the best qualified person for the job and if someone 'overqualified' is willing to do the job, they should be biting their hand off to get them, right? RIGHT?

Anyway.....GOOD LUCK! ? Sounds like a shoe in to me.

EXACTLY this!! I was most peeved!! " Oh, you have a degree, do you think you are somewhat over qualified for the role and will therefore be bored?"

    Il make that decision thanks!!

This is excellent news Flow - here's hoping. (And of course, should you get this one it will turn out to be 100% better than the other job)

The overqualified line is a joke - it's the centre of why my work sucks.

I got turned down for an internal job because I was over qualified, had too much experience, and they couldn't afford me. So they then give it to a person who worked in a bar (JD had stated degree and experience) then she couldn't do it, so they brought ANOTHER person in who wasn't qualified either - the pair of them can't do the job so now they are going to college to get qualifications!!!!!! Erm, it would have been a whole lot easier cheaper to give me the job in the first place!

    Sorry - rant over!
