Hurty bum!

*J9*, 12 May, 2014 at 09:50 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

So I went on a 9 mile bike ride at the weekend with my mum after 12 years of not cycling. And I cycled to work today which according to good old Google is 4.8 miles.

My bum and lady bits are killing me! I think they're actually bruised! I even have leggings with padded bum to make it better but it still hurts. How on earth do cyclists do it?? Do you eventually get used to it?

No. I have a special padded seat and it still kills.

Oh poo! I'm going to have to buy myself a soft seat cover in the hope it'll help even a little.

On the plus side, I did enjoy my ride into work, even if it did knacker me! Hopefully I'll get really fit!

I have a seat cover and a squidgy bum. If I haven't cycled for a while it blooming hurts afterwards, but generally I cycle every day so I am used to it now.

Hurty bum was what put me off spinning classes. I know the feeling! I have always assumed it gets easier if you keep doing it but maybe not then...

I used to go spinning once a week (a few years ago) and I did get used to that pain so hopefully it'll get better.

Didn't think of cycling forums, this is the only foum I've ever been on!

Yep, I think that gel saddles are the way to go. Not that I know anything as I haven't been on a bike for 10 years, but one of my colleagues is into cycling.

You didn't ease your way back into it did you?! Your undercarriage does get used to it, trust me!!

Haha no I should have maybe done a few small rides around the block before going straight into a 9 miler! Admittedly it didn't hurt as bad as I though on my cycle home last night but the undercarriage is still incredibly sensitive!

I remember poor MrMini getting amorous after a 10 mile bike ride (with ub stops thrown in)

There was no way on earth I was letting him near my poor battered up chuff. No chance at all.

He has never suggested a bike ride/pub crawl combo again.

I get a hurty bum the first couple of days of cycling, but it goes away after that generally, the butt gets used to it.

We decided to go on a bicycle tour on honeymoon, I think the name 'Village bicycle tour' sounded too cute for me to remember I hadn't ridden a bike in 20 years so I agreed with H when he suggested it. Bad idea. Afterwards I couldn't understand why my foof and my arse hurt so much, I accused Mr Mooshy of having broken me and told him we were never having sex again. He thought it was hilarious and pointed out it might be the saddle shaped bruise on my bony arse to blame. ?
