I am a sad case! (inanimate objects)

Darla, 16 July, 2008 at 22:06 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

After the thread a few weeks ago about hitchers feeling sad for inanimate objects I thought I was bad, but not as bad as others.

Today I have proved myself wrong!

We had a teddy bears picnic today at school. Last night I told the class they were to bring in one teddy only. This morning, looking at my teddy collection I picked up a nice smiley teddy to take, then saw a sad looking one next to it and ended up not able to leave the house without both of them! Now I used the excuse that it was in case any children had forgotten their teddy but really it was just me being a sad sack!

I need help!??

I'm the same. In shops I never pick the first on the shelf/the creased one etc of anything but with teddies I tend to take the tattiest as they look like they've had a hard life plus noone else will take them. I also feel bad about not buying them all ?

My daughter and I just read the OP, looked at each other and said "I'd do that too" in a rather shamefaced fashion so you are not alone!

I was walking to the bus stop and saw a dirty beagle teddy bear in the back of the bushes and couldn't leave it there... It got popped into a plastic bag and brought home to be washed!

Also, when I was about 10 I saw a shape in the back garden and thought it was a dead rabbit or something. Went out and it was a toy dog - dad (or mum can't remember) explicitly told me it was dirty and I wasn't allowed to bring it inside... I snuck it in and washed it in the sink with shampoo and stuff - it's now called Nedrag (garden backwards) and is so snuggly!
