She wasn't exactly flat chested in the first place either - could slightly understand if it was a confidence thing cos she had nothing but definitely not when she was already a D cup!!
Ok, so she can't manage to save £4k herself, works part time in a tanning salon and with three kids the best thing she can think of to do with the money is spend it on her boobs!? And her husband agrees!? And her guests think this is a reasonable request?! I could probably understand more if she was really overweight and had crippling confidence issues so wanted lipo, or something but there's no visible change (though maybe to her, it's a big change?) Absolutely bizarre. Each to their own, I suppose.
As someone with 3 kids, I can kinda identify with her wanting to do something to rescue her body. God knows I'd love the opportunity to undo some of the damage wonders that 3 pregnancies has done to my figure! It's a weird thing to ask for as a wedding present, but if she's happier in herself as a result, I don't hold it against her.
Pardon the detail, but there's more to boobs than just size - particularly post-pregnancy. Firmness (or the lack thereof!) is more a concern for mothers I know. A boob job might have been intended to give her a better shape* or just firm 'em up a bit without drastically increasing the size.
*FWIW, I don't like cosmetic surgery at all and don't believe it's a solution to body image issues. I'm just playing devil's advocate in the case of this woman!
I think it was cheeky but if her OH was happy and the people giving money then good luck to them. I can totally identify with the ruined boobs and saggy stomach muscles after three kids.
Sorry but that's a really awful thing to say. I'd hate to think that anyone looked at me on my wedding day and thought something so shallow and mean. Besides, sometimes all the exercise in the world isn't enough to get rid of mummy-tummy.
