Oh wow! Your day looks like it was beautiful! I LOVE your dress. The pictures of your wedding have just got me so excited. I'm not scottish but my fiancé is from Aberdeen so we're having a Scottish wedding in Aberdeenshire next year and I can't wait. It's true that the Scots throw the best weddings! :o)

I'm so so so looking forward to the piper and a few ceilidh dances and then Loch Lomond at the end! :o)

Mrs M to be - My OH is glaswegian - I would say about 70% of the men at the wedding wore kilts, although I got married in the Midlands.

One of our favourite bits was being piped through the house - made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up being piped through all the grand rooms with all the stags heads on the walls etc!

We did auld lang syne, Proclaimers - thats what I am dancing to above - and Loch Lomond. My English parents had never seen anything like that before and it is such an amazing moment, I was just trying to take it all in as much as I can. OH has been playing loch lomond on repeat on his ipod all week!

Our ceilidh band were awesome, they came up from London bless them. Got everyone on the dancefloor. Even my Dad who has never done a highland dance in his life got involved with a bit of Dashing White Seargent - I managed just fine in my dress but was sweating like a pig! I stripped the willow with the best of them and with my dress bustled, no one stepped on my dress at all.

All weddings are special, but I do love some of the extra special traditions with a Scottish wedding. I forgot to use my Quaich sadly as I had it on express order but forgot about it on the day! :-(

All the family politics, the staying up late tying ribbons and sticking pieces of paper to other pieces of paper, the expense, the cajoling of suppliers, the fights with the venue, the weird nightmares, crying fits, bridezilla moments ovetrNO THE ROOM MUST BE EXACTLY SYMMETRICAL AND I WILL HIT YOU WITH MY RULER IF IT ISN'T! - all of that is COMPLETELY WORTH IT!

Weddings are ace. Highly recommend them to everyone. I WANT TO DO IT AGAIN! (In 6 months though when I have slept.)
