Not really, we are having a swing singer and a DJ

Swing singer is doing 8 - 10 and DJ 10 - end, so its fairly easy to incorporate, as for cost hun no idea!

Sounds like it would be great fun! (but then i do love them! ?)

Have you paid a deposit for the disco, as you could always cancel... or ask if they could start a little later?

Price ... well ummm go for it if you can shave a few £'s of other things like favours, stamps or your table dec's!

Sorry but i have no wise words to offer!

    Good luck x

I know a blues brothers act based in liverpool. they are brilliant, let me know and I will give you the details, I know them through the shop my sister owns and they were always singing and dancing, right nice pair of brothers.

We have a friend who does an elvis impersonation, not the whole rhinestone bit, just plain black suit, glasses, wig, for our wedding pressie he did a set, it was blumming fantastic, i'm not a big elvis fan, but he got everyone up and dancing, the atmosphere was fantastic and really made the night.

    I'd go for it

We had a Blues Brothers tribute at our wedding and I would say go for it!! It was the best thing that we could have planned for the evening. We kept it a surprise and our guests loved it!

Hey wow.. .. I posted and then left work and just picked up again

thanks everyone so much for the replies I am now more than keen to incorporate this idea into the eve.. on your responses.. I think it would be great fun.

Teamedward - thank you but unfortunately I am in Hampshire.. couldnt get any further south ☹️

I really want a disco for some of the eve too and did you guys incorporate this into the eve?

Jules.40 and Cheekyleeky how long were your acts on for? was it a 1hour set or 2 x 1hour?? can you let me know how it will work and I need to talk to the DJ booked already.

We have 7.45-12.00 maximum timings so I think this could work.

thanks for your help so far

Wow...great idea. If you can afford it, go for it. You'll still need the DJ to start the evening and do your first dance, fill in the gaps and keep the momentum of the evening flowing, and finish the night off. It would make for a really good all round entertainment package....and there's not many people that don't love the Blues Brothers!

I often work with another act. We both set up at the same time....hence I have a super slim rig which i use for small spaces. Then during the evening we pass between each other seamlessly. If I haven't worked with an act before I always ring them prior to the day and we talk about how we do it so on the night we build each other up and pass between with a bit of fun.....gets your guests excited and raises the energy level.
