I cant get hold of the wedding coordinator

NorthumberlandBride, 14 October, 2011 at 18:02 Posted on Planning 0 4

Over the past few days i have been tryiong to get hold of the wedding co-ordinator at one of our possible venues ( have tried 3 times on 3 days) and each time she has been unavailable. I have left messages and she hasnt called me back when the manager promised me a return call on the day of my enquiry

am i right to be wary about the fact i cant get hold of her now when im trying to give them my business? I dont want to need to fight to get anything done when im organising my wedding.

I have finally managed to get an appointment to go and see the venue on Tuesday, but they cant promise me that the wedding co-ordinator will be available to answer any questions.

This happened at one of the venues we went to see. It took over a week for her to get back to me at all and when we eventually did get an appointment we were just showed the room by the depute manager and told if we had any questions we'd have to email them to the wedding co-ordinator because he didn't know anything. Scrapped off the list before we even left.

This would put me off completely! There's no reason not to reply to calls and emails!!

There may be a good reason why they can't get back to you as you expect - but I suppose the thing is that most venues only have one person dealing with weddings and the duty manager does everything on the day.

Of course, we want answers NOW... but I wouldn't just discount the venue without seeing it first.

OMG !!! Definately be concerned, however, our wedding co-ordinator left after we booked our wedding and the new one was awful, it took me 6 weeks to get answers to simple questions. In the end me and OH sent her an email basically saying we were really unhappy and were really torn as the venue was perfect for us but after how we were being treated we were thinking of cancelling. It was such a stressful time but she replied apologising loads and since then has been absolutely brilliant! Sometimes its worth just giving them a chance and if you really like the venue then speak to the Wedding Manager or the General Manager when you go on Tuesday. Explain the situation, if they take no notice then move on to somewhere else but you never know they may turn round and be brilliant like ours.

    Hope this helps
