OK, so this is an odd thing to be proud of but I bit the bullet and sorted out my unworn wedding dress. It had been sat in my friend's wardrobe and I knew it couldn't stay there. Everyone kept telling me to leave it until it was easier to deal with, but I don't think it was ever going to be an easy thing to deal with. Also I decided to try and recoup some money - given that it has never been worn, and sell it. I didn't want to have to go the ebay etc route as I didn't want to have to see people trying it on, so I contacted the shop I brought it from and they directed me to a shop that sold all their ex-samples etc. Long and short of it is that 'my' dress is now being sold at the shop and if they find a buyer I get a percentage of the sale price. I could probably get more selling it myself but thisway is hassle free.
I'm proud of myself for just doing it - it couldn't stay at my friend's house and even if I ever do get married in the future there is no way I'd want to wear it. I hope it makes some girl's day and brings them a bit more happiness and luck than I have had!
