I fancy having bunting...

teeheeyoucrazyguys!, 22 June, 2008 at 19:57 Posted on Planning 0 7

..... on my top table, instead of any fancy swag or plain table cloth. Will that look naff???

I dont know how else I could use it...there is a wooden structure like a bandstand in the gardens but not sure if its worth decorating that.

any suggestions for fabric bunting appreciated.. just another idea...

My aunt made ours - well I cut out all the triangles, and my aunt sewed them onto the webbing!! Took ages but was the only way we could afford all the bunting we needed!! And it looked fantastic - well I think so!

    Thank you!

I bought a load of fabric from fabric land, in different patterns, then cut out triangles from it using pinking shears - so it didn't frey. I also bought webbing which is like string but flatter and stronger. My Aunt then sewed the triangles onto the webbing just using a sewing machine. She just did one line of sewing I think on each length!! She did it in about 10m lengths, and she did 9 of them - so 90m in all. It took me a good while to cut all of them out - but I just did a few each evening in front of the TV so it wasn't really bad. I don't have a clue how long it took my Aunt to sew them all on, but I think she regretted offering!!! If you have any questions you can always PM me!
