I feel horrible

Mrs Tonner 2010, 6 March, 2010 at 12:45 Posted on Planning 0 30

I was on the bounty forums when I was pregnant and i've got most on them on facebook. We started a weight loss group and I just commented on it saying I've stopped losing weight, strugling with my diet and i'm going to try adios to spur me on.

Some horrible woman said "Hmm isn't that because of all the KFC and maccies you eat, you're always posting that's what you're eating! Burgers. chips haha! And you're always making cakes!! PMSL You're the only bride to be I know not on a diet. I've been wanting to tell you for ages. Step away from the food woman!!!"

I'm devastated!!!! Sat here in floods of tears.

I make cakes for my OH and once a week I've been allowing myself a treat!!!

I only wanted some help and support to stick to my diet and she completly ripped me appart.

Well any weight that i've lost in the past i did alone in my own way. I never joined any group or anything. I think that a wee treat is fine once...or twice a week. i cut down on portion sizes and that works for me. U can do it girlie and forget bout the woman who is sittin at her computer 24/7 seeing what every1s eating while you're whizzing around the kitchen!! Smiley smile

Thats awful, wat a horrible woman!! I would delete and block her, after giving her a piece of my mind!

I stressed about weight before the wedding, especially after bringing it forward but on the day I felt like a princess even without losing much weight, so try not to let it ake over your life. You'll look lovely wether you lose weight or not.

What a cow!!!!! and what a sad little life she must lead, counting everyones calories except her own! have you seen any pics of her is she really a size 6 or is that in her dreams?!!! for all you know she could be bigger than you, either way her opinion really doesnt matter as the whole point of joing such a group is to support each other!

Im now a size 8/10 after losing just over 3 stone (size 14/16) you can do it hun and you can allow yourself those odd treats, im now trying to maintain my weight by keeping my portion sizes right and doing kickboxing twice a week and walking the dog to tone up i do fluctuate and sometimes put on another half a stone!!

Big hugs honey keep up your good work x

What a horrible nasty madam! Ignore her she's probably a bulimic bitchy moose! Why would you join a weight loss forum to put on weight???

Ignore her you are better than that! You will lose the weight you want it just takes time and sometimes the body Plato's are a little while try mixing up your diet a little so your body doesn't get used to it!

I am a large girl and if I lose some weight before the big day great but I'm not that bothered my H2B loves me as I am and I'm not going to stress myself out trying to lose 3/ 4 or 5 stone for the sake of one day!

P.S Mrs Tonner you have a lovely figure! ?

Thank you for all the advice, that's all I wanted!

I feel huge, i was a 14 before the sproglet and now I'm an 18 and even a 20 on a bad day!

In the first week I lost 8lb but now a few weeks later it's just stopped. I probably do treat myself too much but I've got such bad habits. I don't eat all day until OH comes home when we have a meal together.

It's only once a week (if that) that we get fast food.

I've got it into my head that I'm too fat to join a gym :/ mainly because I'd hate people to see me looking and sweating like a pig.

Sorry to have a big moan, the baby got bored and crawled off!

i would go as far as to say this may be where you are going wrong if at all, you need to keep up your intake or your body begins to hold on to what it can - even the bad stuff! you need to eat regularly, little and often, if i snack its normaly on fruit, i eat lots of rice cakes with philidelphia extra light or similar spread, eggs are good for breakfast, poached egg on granary yum! prawn salad wrap, i always bulk my main meal up with lots of veg, play about with what you eat and when, maybe its just time to shake up your diet a bit x

I think i need to get my butt to asda and stock up on rice cakes and other good things to snack on! I tend to forget to eat!!

On the days we don't have take away i usually do chicken and rice, stir fry's, fajitas and burrito's etc. I love spicy stuff!

    Seriously thank you!!

Well she sounds like a right spiteful ***! I know what its like to feel unhappy with your size and that doesn't give other people the right to make you feel even worse. Sorry I can't give you any tips cos I'm struggling with weight loss myself. I guess I just wanted to let you know you're not alone in feeling this way.

It's a shame you don't live near me, we could have done some running together but only after dark so no-one could see us huffing, puffing and sweaty?

    What a ?!

As Lorna said though, you're better off eating little and often throughout the day than not eating until dinner. Maybe something like the Special K diet as you don't have to think about that anymore than two bowls a day!

I serioulsy want to give this a try. I want to lose about half a stone before the wedding if possible and planning on starting this about 7 weeks before to do a pound a week.

I'd probably be the same! I hate having to stick to foods! I have tried having porridge and muesli for lunch at work and it does fill me up - it's just my snacking habits I have to try and stop.

Just as the others say dont let this sad individual bother you (for all you know it's a 50 year old man on there pretending to be this size 6 glamourpuss!) <which is actually an even more scary thought?!!!?>

people who say things like that are just taking their own insecurities out on others so just think of it that way, its more of a reflection on HER than you xxxxxxx

Mrs Tonner, I could have just read all that about myself! I can see totally why you were upset and I would dread to think what I would have written back to her..

It seems to me that when you are a curvy lady some people seem to think that gives them a god given right to be incredibly rude and obnoxious, but it doesnt.

You are not the only bride not on a diet- I am in the camp of Lizzy, if it happens it happens, if it doesnt then I am me. Try what you can and push yourself as far as you want to but do not make yourself unhappy and do not put up with that sort of cr*p.

Hope you feel better xxxx ?

What a b!tch! She clearly has nothing better to do with her time and has some jealousy issues, why else behave like that!

Ignore her and just focus on you, eating in the mornings is really inportant to quick start your motabolism (sp), then little and often works ok for me, i normally have a slice of toast for breakfast and then a peice of fruit for a snack, then a salad for lunch, fuit snack in the avo and then a healthy tea.

I always find too that i loose quite a bit the first 2 weeks of dieting but then it gets harder and i see no change week on week, and then all of a sudden a few more pounds drop off.

Keep at it, and we are all here to help!

She commented saying 'no need to get in a huff I was just repeating what you're sayin'

So I looked over my posts and i've not mentioned food for 3 weeks! And that one was saying I'd eaten some milk tray and felt bad!

I've had a look on ASDA and made my shopping list based on my meal chart thingy whatsit. Not paying £5 delivery charge tho lol. So it's a trip to ASDA for me. And hopefully I'll start losing again!

I agree with the others, you need to try and ignore her, I know its easier said than done...

FWIW I put on weight after an accident a couple of years ago then started dieting last summer when we set the date for the wedding. I was restricting my calories and cut out refined sugar as much as I could. Very little happened for aaaages then after about 5 months it finally started coming off and In the last 3 months I've lost a stone. Bodies work differently and you just have to try and stick with it as best you can and allow yourself treats or it will become too difficult. Little things though like switching milk for dark chocolate, crisps for maize snacks and even just putting less/no spread on your sandwiches are easy ways to just help you along a bit. Exercise helps too if you can but I'm sure you will be fine. I won't hit my taarget weight but I am happy now.

Remember we're all here to affer advice/a shoulder when you need it

How dare anyone say something like that. It's just pure cheek and she deserves a good slap!! No wonder your upset. I've stopped losing weight too but mostly because i've not really been trying but i know no matter what I'll feel special on my wedding day so don't let it upset you too much. Just Ignore her, people like that are just looking to wind others up.

    Big hugs? Lxx

What a cow! Who the f*** does she think she is? Most people hit a brick wall in dieting. I have recently and for weeks there was a weight I couldnt seem to get under. Sometimes a change of what you are eating helps, or a change in your exercise routine.

I have been watching calories and loosely following the GI diet but not too strictly. I have been eating less for lunch but having porridge or oat based cereal that keeps me full till lunchtime. I have been drinking loads of water or squash, and when I have felt hungry between meals, got a drink before food, as sometimes strangely a drink can satisfy instead for a while. I have been swapping seeded bread instead of white bread, and been having a lot of vegetable stir frys for tea. Also I have been having quorn sometimes instead of chicken. I also go to the gym 2-3 times a week.

I have however been naughty and had a Maccy D's today, but you need a treat every now and then to keep you sane on a diet!

Ignore that stupid cow. What others have said is good advice. I was a size 18-20 about 3 months ago, today I tried on and bought a pair of size 16 jeans (Icried!).

I made small changes in my diet so I've swapped white bread for seeded brown bread and eat less of it, I eat porridge for breakfast (even though I hate it), I sweeten it with honey and throw some berries on or have a couple of scrambled eggs with a piece of toast, lunch varies form last nights leftovers eg, chilli and rice, but a small portion, dinner homemade curry, stir fry's etc. Tbh I 've found drinking loads of flavoured water and squash has stopped me snacking. OH has lost weight as well and I think small changes make the biggest impact.

Don't lose heart, you are a gorgeous girl - ignore stupid, insensitive people for what they are....stupid and insensitive. (Wonder if she would've said it to your face though......MMMMmm???)

id have to agree with steelgoddess that if you want to lose weight and still eat normal, proper food, slimming world is great. i've lost about three stone with SW and i think itd really suit you with the kind of food you say you like. (SW curries/chilli etc etc)

hope you're feeling better about it all now.

I know exactly how you feel Mrs Tonner and i'm kind of in the same boat.

I'm also a size 18/20 and have always been bullied for my weight.

I can also never stick to a diet.

My advice would be to ignore that silly women (and if shes really a size 6, then she knows nothing!!!)

How about planning meals for the week and then do a big shop for the week. if you need any advice on low-calorie (but nice) snacks, give me a shout. Another thing you'll need is support from Oh and family and friends. If its just you doing it, then it will begin to feel like a chore. Get OH involved too. even the little one!

    Hope i've helped!
