I feel like the worst daughter in the world

Sare, 1 January, 2009 at 13:06 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

My Mum phoned me up to wish me Happy New Year, asked what my H was doing so I had to tell her he had gone out last night and stayed out.

She then started asking questions and I've ended up telling her what's happened and she's so upset. What a great start I've given her.

She is bound to be upset, her daughter is hurting. That's not your fault, it's his.

Does your Mum live close Sare? Hopefully she will give you lots of support over the next few months. X

But surely your Mum is just what you need now? (sorry if I have missed on a post that says just the opposite). Are you a tiny bit relieved to have told her?

I can understand why she's upset but I'm sure she'll come to realise that you are the one who needs support right now. Don't add the guilt of how she feels to the guilt you already feel about the situation - you can't dictate how people feel or act and that includes your H.

I've not replied to your posts before because I've not had anything extra to say, but I do think you should be looking that it's your H's fault your mum is upset as it is his decision that is causing all this.

You are allowed to talk to your closest relatives for council and comfort.

I've also not posted before because everyone has said everything much better than I could have put it but I have been following this and was thinking of you over Christmas.

Your mum is understandably upset but that is not your fault. I'm glad you told her as you need support from your family especially as he is such a twunt.

You are way too good for him. You're funny and smart and I always wondered why you stayed with someone who didn't appreciate you (I sort of figured it was the kids). It'll be hard for a while but one day when you're free of that git and have someone who appreciates you and treats you well you'll be so glad it happened.

    Lots of ?
