I hate delivery drivers!! Rant!

Nancy Noodles, 24 May, 2012 at 22:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

I have had my day well and truely ruined because we had to wait in for a delivery man to collect a parcel!! 9-5 they said they would be here , we called the office at 5.30 to see if they had any idea of a time they would be here , they said he would be with us sortly! its now 10pm and still no sign , i doubt very much that it will be picked up now which means another day of waiting tomorrow! I wanted to go shopping , spend my birthday money and have my hair done but no its a day in for me!!

Sorry ladies for ranting but ive been ranting at H all day and im pretty sure hes gonna get annoyed soon!

I work nights and our postman knows this.....When he brings stuff that needs signed for and doesn't give me a chance to get downstairs to open the door and sign for it...Instead he waits a millisecond then he writes out one of those 'sorry you weren't in...' docket and takes my parcel away to the depot! Actually, I don't even think he writes the docket at the door, I think he has it pre-written!

It INFURIATES ME SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! The delivery guys we get round our way all seem to be pretty much the same and on time...Its just Royal Mail that nark me!

The other week I waiting in all day for something and it didn't come. OH then tracked it online and they said they had tried to deliver it. I went a bit mental at them because they never rang the doorbell or knocked on the door, and they didn't leave a card so there was no proof they'd even been here.

I have a "special place" for parcels and my local postie knows where it is and leaves stuff in there. It works brilliantly. (is actually an unused beehive)

Good thinking AC - there's not a cat in hell's chance I'd stick my hand in a beehive.

Don't have trouble with Royal Mail - it's courier company drivers that wind me up.

We live in a new build so postcode isn't recognised or Sat Nav or Google (& won't be for years yet). Last year a courier chap followed his sat nav 8 miles out of the way, to a different town, different road name and dumped £300 worth of fresh meat on some random person's door step!

Eventually got it back but only after he had returned to the house twice to collect it. When he finally arrived OH was so close to knocking his lights out. The really stupid thing - OH's phone number was on the address label and they didn't bother to ring for directions!

Also had 2 parcels been thrown over the back fence without a card through the door but they had to go through neighbour's garden because you can't reach our's on foot!

Same. RM seem to be able to locate us, but couriers are often a different story. Two orders I placed with Brand Alley to be delivered to my home address have been showing as 'delivered' on the courier's system, but on days when we weren't in! The latest one was last month, as I'd ordered some clothes for our honeymoon (like 2 months previously! Takes a bleedin age to arrive). Really p!ssed off as there weren't replacements in their warehouse. They did refund me quickly, but that's not the point.

Brandalley have got it down to a T with me now - they just leave the parcel by my door. Which suits well enough as we aren't on a road. Much better than having to constantly ring them and negotiate future delivery.

They just keep claiming to have delivered it when they haven't. Maybe they're delivering it to the wrong adress and someone is nick my deliveries! Can only order to my work address now.

We always have great trouble with Royal Mail. Where my parents live is also a place of business so during office hours there is always someone there. So it is infuriating how often a 'Sorry you were out card' is left. We weren't out! You didn't ring!! My dad is forever arguing with the depot about this, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

Hope your stuff gets collected soon Mrs T!

Well a little update , they still didnt turn up last night so at 7.30 last night H lost his temper and rang the company yet again, only this time we was told that the delivery driver had said he had been to our house to pick up our stuff at 6.30 but we was out so he put a flyer though the door!! H hit the roof as we havent left the house and at 6.30 we was in the front garden so there is no way they came! It amazes me that the delivery company let the delivery drivers get away with such lies! Now we have to wait in again all day on tuesday for pick up , i dont think for one minute that they will turn up , also the manager that H spoke to last night promised he would call the person that the delivery was for to apologise for the delay , but he didnt! surprise surprise! Thankfully the person waiting is being very patient with us!!
