I have a very, very good dog

HaloHoney, 17 May, 2008 at 23:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

He's had a buster collar on for most of the day (he was less than impressed, to put it lightly), and I have taken it off him to give him a bit of a rest from being so uncomfortable.

He has just been lying in front of me with me stroking him, occasionally he'd go to lick his stitches and all I have to do is tell him to "leave it" and he does. He then rolled over and I noticed he had some of his hair tangled with his stitches, and he let me sweep it away for him (it must have tweaked a bit) but he didn't flinch. He was lying there and letting me rub his tummy and all of his bare patch, nearly going to sleep.

It's times like this that I feel so privileged to have a dog in my life who trusts me so much. I can't understand people who mistreat their animals.

Go and give your dog/cat/rabbit/guinea pig/goldfish a fuss everyone.

I have no choice in fussing my cat, he's snuggled up beside me on the sofa every time I've sat down since I got home from work yesterday.

Big Mummy's boy. Very cute though.

I would go and cuddle Kit but I don't fancy the A&E trip after she has mauled me. I have an evil cat who is plotting my death so she can have my side of the bed.

    Yay for Rocket though!!

Catnip? You can sprinkle from a distance? Or does it make her psychotic? ?

Pet's are great, aren't they? You seem to have a dog that trusts you wholeheartedly.

I had to take a bee sting out of my cat's paw once, with a pair of tweezers, and she lay on her back, belly in the air, really still so I could get it out. I was amazed as I expected teeth, spitting and claws but they seem to know you mean the best for them.

Did I get a thank you from her?... No such luck!

One of my cats seems very taken with my now moving bump - she has always been a cuddly cat - but recently she has taken to trying to sit on the bump as LO is moving around - she seems to like getting kicked!!

Mine's had a Buster collar on for over a week now and after the initial day of distress, he has been an absolute star. He has got used to crash, bang walloping into everything now!! It's very dented and full of scratches. He's had an eye ulcer and this is his third op, so we are hoping they will tell us it has been a success tomorrow. He is a greyhound so a tad nervous anyway. I've told him if he was a child, I'd buy him a new bike.

I now have to go kill a fly for him as he's petrified of them .... eats wasps though.

Bless him, he sounds as much of a loon as mine. ?

Hope his eye heals up soon.
