I have grown a beard.

*Mini*, 14 May, 2011 at 14:36 Posted on Planning 0 20

Now this is a wee bit embaressing but Im going to brazen it out. Over recent times I have noticed that I have grown a slight *tash* Now David Seaman I am not but I have no way to deal with this new addtion to my face. Should I bleach, wax or pluck? I am wary it may grow back thicker if I do it wrong?

I have had a mantash for a loong time. I get it threaded and think that's the best option. It doesn't grow back thicker. I'm saving up to get it lasered but it's vay expensive. Just to make you feel better, the last time I got my tash done, the lady asked if I also wanted my chin threaded.

    Now I actually do have a man-beard.

VM if it makes you feel any better, inbetween threading appointments I look like Brian Blessed's love child.

I get my eyebrows threaded and really recommend it. She always asks if I want anything else done, cheeky mare. It gets all the finer blonde hairs too that show in the sun. Give it a bash... Don't suppose we can have a before and after shot? ;-)

I see threading being done at the White Rose Centre. But not in a shop, in the aisles!! Can you imagine having your chin done with thousands of shoppers walking by??

I have no tash but I do have some hairs on my chin. I had PCOS when I was 15, and although they cured it as they caught it so early and I now don't have ANY at all, totally gone! (dr said that was rare!)

Anyway, I was left with whatever growth of hair had started before it was cured, not alot but some brown/black hairs on my chin, invisible if I get rid of them, not too many but still....Bane of my life!!

So I invested in an IPL machine, it's only suitable for pale skin with dark hairs though or dark blonde hairs. No reds, no very lights.

It was £400 from Argos or Amazon etc, but it was worth every penny. Takes a few months but it lessens the growth by days and thins the hairs, so eventually they fall out.

I say embrace your inner Dave and grow it out. You'll save money on your photobooth props and if your OH has any sort of facial hair you can guarantee a full on velcro-style snog once you're pronounced man and wife.

Thanks for your advice CB! I could probably grow a beard quicker than MrMini.

Mr&Mrs Ford- I have PCOS so Im gonna blame my hairiness on that.

    You're welcome ?

I'd suggest threading or waxing if you want a serious answer. I often think bleached blonde hairs are even more noticeable than downy ones.

Go on, let lovely Dave be your inspiration… https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=55362907553

This is a big issue for my inlaws who do the home wax. I only get very fair thin hairs so never really thought about doing anything with it until i took my MIL to my salon as she wanted hers done professionally. I tried waxing it for the first time and was a huge mistake. Cue huge white blisters appearing on my lip. Spend 48hours housebound with sudocreme on it. So threading may be better :-)
