I have never done anything like this in my life .. Have you...

slou90, 4 November, 2013 at 18:36 Posted on Planning 0 33

20 plus weeks to my wedding and I'm dropping caffeine and fizzy drinks , squash etc for pure ... Water!!! 1.5l a day in fact!

I want healthy glowing skin ! Obv this may not work - I'm a natural size 4/6 and always have been very petite so I eat crap to get as many calories as possible and maintain a healthy bmi. Iv been going mad trying to put ON weight for the wedding - but I want clear skin too ! So only drinking water but keeping my regular diet to keep the weight on iv gained !

Anyone doing any crazy 'detox' too ?

X

I'm doing Davina Body Buff DVD every day! It's killing me but I quite like seeing myself toned for a change! I'm petite too but a size 10 - I don't think I can go much smaller but I'm really trying to keep any extra weight off as the wedding isn't until August and my dress doesn't have any corsetry, so I have nothing to suck me in!

What I would give to be a 10!!! I'm trying to get to a 6/8 but not sure my body will let me Smiley sad

sounds like hard work ? Least you have time fig your body to sort of balance itself out ( if that makes sense )

iv also been doing honey face masks - apparently brings out the impurities in the skin x

Dear God, no. I don't want anyone to die.

(take away caffeine and nicotine from me and I turn into a monster)

I don't do fizzy drinks / squash (red wine is much better!) and I drink a fair amount of water daily anyway. The one thing I have been doing is to cut out carbs in the evening to increase weight loss ... not that you need to!

Slou - it's not too bad, and I've seen the change in my figure quite quickly which is good, I didn't expect that. My main type of exercise is walking, I don't really go to the gym or anything as I always seem to injure myself. I've always wanted toned arms as they don't seem to have much strength (my arms are like spaghetti lol) so it's been good building some muscle. I'm kind of similar to you in a way - I just want to keep healthy. Hopefully I can stay like this until the wedding.

Oh, I had all these plans to beauty myself up - vitamins, facials, gallons of water, cut the crap food. I've pretty much done nothing. I did do the cabbage soup diet a week or so ago, and managed to lose approx 7lbs. The wedding kind of creeps up on you-one minute it's 6 months away, the next, well, you know what I mean. In fact I've even taken up smoking again, on order to curb my appetite! How stupid was that???!!

I pretty much have no self-discipline or will power. Oh well, too late now!?

Becs when's the big day ? Cabbage soup ! Yuk ! Bet you smelt nice Smiley winking x

Hubby to be has stopped smoking now for a good six months - so proud - he's one of those vaporiser things! He's doing well!

Thats all he's doing, although he must think I'm mad with my water plan Smiley winking!

Healthy is the key ! X

I was trying to lose weight anyway before we got engaged and am nearly down to my target weight (yay!!) but just have to make sure it stays that way; especially as we have 2 christmases to go before the date! I will however be cutting out tea and red wine around 3 or 6 (if I can manage it) months before so my teeth hopefully get whiter!

Big day is this Saturday. Yikes!!

Anyway, the soup is more of a vegetable one than just cabbage. And, if i'm honest, I got sick of it on day 3, so survived on cup a soups and fruit. Still, having a strict plan to adhere to helped a bit. I still wish I'd kept on with the Hair, skin nail vitamin things. Good job I have a fab hair and make-up lady!

    Exactly the same as this!

I need regular tea infusions to maintain a healthy state of mind. I would not want to meet a detoxing Mooshy.

I'm not on any kind of pre wedding diet/health regime. I'm naturally scrawny and need to put a little bit of weight back on which I've lost since having my braces fitted. I think at a push I might remember to use moisturiser once in a while.

Ha! I was clearly over thinking it. I was pondering *does she mean 6 to 7 cups a day?Or is she drinking a drink every 5 mins?*

Those caffeine withdrawal headaches are awful. I had one a few months ago and couldn't figure out what it was until I remembered that we'd run out of 'proper' coffee at work and so I'd been mostly drinking de-caf with just one proper coffee at home in the mornings! I hadn't realised how much coffee I drank and how addicted I was to it so now I've cut it down to just mornings, with water in the afternoons at work. I still get through 2 coffees before I leave the house in the mornings though!

I've been going to Slimming World for nearly 3 years and have lost a decent amount of weight but it's been at a bit of a standstill over the last year or so - probably because I've extended my 'treat night' into half a week! ? I think know I'm addicted to crappy food too! So I'm going for the exercise route instead - I started going to Zumba a few months ago, thinking it would be my idea of hell but actually loved it from the start. I also rang the gym last week to see about membership fees and things, so now I just have to actually get off the sofa and join!

God I'm a water fiend anyway, I drink at least 2 litres every single day if not more! If I have less I actually feel dehydrated haha. Going cold turkey on caffeine is REALLY hard though! I usually only have 1 coffee a day in the week, but not having that 1 cup makes such a difference. FairPlay to you and good luck!

I was drinking about 10 cups of tea a day. I've cut down to two 'proper' brews and I'm drinking loads more water and I sometimes have green tea at work. I had really bad headaches for the first few days but I'm fine now. My skin feels miles better for it. I've never had loads of cellulite but I like to think my bottom looks a bit smoother too!

Wow, you're starting early! I did it for 9 weeks on & off before my wedding as part of one of those meal replacement diets. I was only allowed water & tea/coffee but as the milk counts towards your calorie intake, tea had to be limited! I must admit, my skin has been crappy since I went back to my old ways. I'm trying to up my water intake again but no avail!

    Good luck!

Little steps - you'll end up miserable and grumpy otherwise. You could try Peppermint tea - it doesn't have caffeine in it, H2B has started drinking these as he just likes a warm drink, give it a go - plus it's adding to your water intake.

I second the peppermint tea .... hmm yummy. I have to admit when I started this I went cold turkey. Only have a few cuppas a day. rest is water or green tea. I had to get rid of a lot of sugar from my diet. funny thing is after i felt i had more energy

Rather than cut out all caffine, why don;t you just make sure you drink at least 2 litres of water at work a day, that's what i have been trying to do, i just take a 2 litre bottle and sip it throughout the day. I couldn't ever cut out coffee - i have three before i even start work! If you want to gain weight, but gain it healthily try upping your calorie intake with protein and complex carbs and start exercising, classes like bodypump and any resistance type training. These will help you gain the 'right' type of weight rather than just fat.

    Good luck anyway!

I've cut out all fizzy drinks and caffeine (I didn't drink coffee or tea, just coke and red bull). Not really as a wedding thing or a lose weight thing (though I am trying to lose weight and eat more healthily/exercise in general) but more because I was worried about my health and what the sheer amount of caffeine and sugar I have in a day was doing to my body. I had to cut it all out or I knew I'd slowly let it creep back in. Now a couple of months into it I have the odd fizzy drink if out and about but still try to avoid caffeine where possible. The first few days were terrible. After that not so bad.

Slou - I used to be the same with the weight (how I got in to all the fizzy drinks in the first place) (though probably not the healthiest way to do it I know what it's like to not find any other solution) - I now suddenly seem to be able to keep the weight on )and gain it) and my years of bad eating habits aren't helping! Now trying to lose it!
