I have received the hitched sixpence!

Hey, i got mine today aswell yay!! yeah its just been started up again so we are the first ones, think theres a couple of other ladies too, its so exciting, how are you going to wear/show/have yours?

Well there are 5 or 6 of them - you may well be the first for your particular coin.

I was on the list for the previous lot and didn't get mine, I was abit upset as didn't have anything from hitched on the day.. but it doesn't matter on the day

I got an email asking my address so it can be sent to me and that was a fair few weeks ago now but I still have nothing. I wont be devastated but I have given my address out unnecessarily otherwise. In fact, I had almost completely forgotten about it until now. I did think about it the other day for a moment or two.

The little pack is really sweet, made it a little more special!

I think I will wear mine with tradition in the left foot?

I did forget about this to be honest and it just arrived, I gave my address quite a few weeks ago so it may still turn up

I have a feeling if I don't get the sixpence I may need to rush out and buy one last minute as I have my old, new, borrowed and blue and I want to finish it off.

Sorry if it's a daft question but what is the hitched sixpence? ?

The basics of it is, some lovely ladies set up a little arrangement where they send out a sixpence to B's 2 B due to get hitched soon and the brides use them as a little good luck token, something old and technically can b e used as a something borrowed too. The bride, once done with the sixpence then sends it on to someone else in time for their wedding.

Our sixpence co-ordinator Mrs B_2B is now Mrs B, so she's just got back into the swing of it. I know the first person who had one didn't return it (naughty) so there should be 5 doing the rounds - I also have some spares so I can top us up with a couple of extras if some go astray.

I loved borrowing the sixpence! I sent it out to the next bride the middle of the week, so i hope it gets there ok.
