...I knew this would happen....

jen-lou, 23 October, 2014 at 14:17 Posted on Planning 0 7

The shop where I have ordered my dress have been having a sample sale the last month or so and have been adding a couple of new photos to facebook every other week or so, and low and behold, the dress I have ordered is now in the sample sale, and when I ordered it I fit into the sample size in the shop perfectly (apart from it being too long), I knew this would happen, at least they haven't put up the Sale price for it, if they do ill be sobbing into my cuppa later that's for sure ?

I'm just trying to make it better by saying at least the one i've ordered only 1 person would have tried it on, me.

Oh well, these things happen, off to cheer myself up with cake...?

Oh Jen-Lou, do not fret. sample gowns are cheaper, yes, but not that much (mine was still only just in budget) and I bet you that dress is in no where near as good a condition as yours. When I was dress shopping some of the samples were already quite tatty. I love my sample dress but I realised after I had bought it that it had been in the shop for 8 months. think of all the sweaty bodies squeeezing into it!

Your dress is made just for you!

I got a sample dress, and yes, it was cheaper but it isn't new- I know that (no one else will though). Just think, your dress has been made specially for you and when you try it on no one will have tried it on before you and no one will again!

Thanks for the comments, I just needed to tell someone and couldn't put it on facebook.

Hopefully I will only have to wait a couple more weeks until my dress is in for me to see it again and try one, it's only taken since January, lol.

I feel your pain but you may spend a fair bit on dry cleaning, repairs etc if damaged.

This happened to me too. I fit the sample perfectly, and asked if I could buy it. They said no and so I ordered full price dress. A few weeks later I asked to go back in to try the sample to look at veils etc and they had sold it. For 1000 less than my full sized dress. Sooooooo annoying. I feel your pain.

I didn't even think to ask to by the sample dress. That is totally rubbish of them, how can they refuse to let you buy it but sell it to someone else!
