I LOOOVE Wedding Shopping!! **FLASH**

BumbleBrat, 3 November, 2010 at 18:49 Posted on Planning 0 18

Look at all these goodies I've come home with tonight!!

I need one for each guest as they will have each person's name on a tag on each handle..

I think I have another 35 or so tea cup and saucers upstairs packed away so I'm about halfway there as I'm hoping to collect 150 altogether!!

Also had a crafty moment earlier and made a few name tags, these will possibly be used for my table plan to make it a bit different.

I am pretty sure I will be putting a single flower head in each. Something like a peony or hydrangea type flower head.. Haven't decided exactly just yet. No doubt I will come up with more ideas yet though lol

Hey BrideBrat i think we are date twins? Sat 26th Nov 2011?? I saw you on the 2011 list. You look like your planning is coming along really well. We have sorted ceremony and reception (same venue) mine and bridesmaid dresses, and save the date cards but that's all. Well done you for being so organised!

I know what you mean, i have loads of ideas and plans buzzing around my head. I have been thinking maybe I should slow down a bit and try to enjoy the decision making process and make it last, but I can't! I had to stop myself from buying the flowergirl dresses last week - they have over a year to grow yet!

I'm loving being in 'wedding world' too - had an idea about setting up my own bridal shop but after a quick google search it seems like really hard work! Gonna keep looking for my unique wedding business idea though, got to be more fun than the day job! lol

Saracroft did something very similar as favours for the ladies and they looked fab! We used a small piece of hydragea head and a single rose in each.

I've been looking at Flowergirl dresses too but the rate my 4 yr old Niece is growing, I'd never get the right size lol, trying to be too organised!!

A weddingy job would be awesome! So much competition out there though, there are hundreds of businesses out there, you'd have to be outstanding to earn a decent wage. We can but dream though eh! In the mean time, I'm going to have to build an extension on my house lol, the spare bedroom is jam packed with stuff for the wedding in boxes and bags! I even already have my bridesmaids bouquets sorted :/

They look so pretty George! What sort of prices are hydrangea heads? I was looking at silk flowers as I'm not using any real flowers at all for the day but would be interesting to know just incase I can't find decent looking faux flowers.

They're going to take me forever considering I have over 160 people on my guestlist.. Maybe I'll just do them for the top table lol!

I've only done a handful so far -

It depends a lot on the time of year and the colour you're after really. Hydrangea heads aren't cheap, but nor are decent silk ones tbh! If you pop a scrunch of tissue paper inside each teacup first, you'll only need a little bit of hydrangea. They're a bittle like broccoli heads so you can just snip off a little bit at time; I think we got enough for 6 cups from each head (in August when they're at their biggest!).

Aw very pretty - but lots of work for the name labels.

Can I be nosey and ask where you got the beads from? I was thinking of making wine glass charms with something simular but they seem to cost a fortune.

Saracroft sourced all her cups herself, I just poppped the flowers in! Worth looking in charity shops, car boots and the good old bay of e.

Thanks George, my Mother in Law has a huge Hydrangea outside her house but this time of year the colour has gone and they're already looking a bit brown - I'd have stolen all the heads else lol!

I got this lot from one seller on ebay locally. She had tons on there so I bid on a few sets and then when I got there she had loads more she hadn't listed yet so I had them too for a bit cheaper. She sells tons of china and said she has more coming in next week so will email me and let me have first dibs. 39 tea cups & saucers plus a load of matching side plates and one bigger plate and a sugar bowl & jug all for £35, absolute bargain!!

Sorry, forgot to say - the alphabet beads were from ebay, few quid for 500. The pearls were from ebay too.
