I love my mil2b

...and my fil2b as well. ❤️

My half-brother and his wife recently had a baby and the Christening will be coming up soon. However, my Dad is terminally ill, so my parents being able to attend the Christening (which is 200+ miles from where they live) seemed impossible. I came home from work today and had this e-mail from mil2b:

Hello Mel. I have been thinking about Lewis’s christening and wonder whether or not your mum will be able to go. Gerry and I would like to help out if we can. We could go up to be with your dad over the weekend. I know from his last e-mail that he’s not up to visitors but we would just be there to keep him company and feed him, not really as visitors. It seems such a shame if your mum has to miss a lovely family event. I could stay until she returned. I just wanted to get your feelings about this and, as I say, help out in any way we can. We will totally understand if this suggestion is a non-starter but felt that we wanted to offer.

She didn't even know that Mum going to the Christening might be a problem, this has come completely off her own bat. Have to confess, made me a little when I read it. I'm so lucky to be marrying into this family.

? That's so lovely! That's such a nice thing to offer, I hope that your Mum is able to get to the Christening then.

She's wonderful. I've known this for a long time (especially when reading on here about the nightmares some of you have with your mil2bs) but the e-mail today just brought it home to me how lucky I am to have such caring pil2b.
