I made a right idiot of myself today.

Maxi, 16 February, 2009 at 18:38 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Stepped off the train at Edinburgh Waverely Station during rush hour, onto a grate and got the heel of my boot caught!

I yanked my foot and managed to lift the whole of a section of grate with me.

I tried to stand on the grate with my other foot to leverage, managed to get that one stuck too, thankfully I was able to yank the second heel out but was still left with my first heel stuck firmly in 3 foot length of grate.

Thankfully 3 ladies came to assist me and after removing my boot we managed through sheer force to pull the boot out of the grate.

There was no leather left on the heel of my (new) boot and I had to attend a Tribunal with scabby heels.

Not one of my better days.

In the witness box for an 1 1/2 hour, cross-examined for an hour. Was horrible.

The solicitor said that I did well though.

The result won't be known for a few weeks while the tribunal consider the evidence.

Well done for getting through the examation and cross examination it's never an easy thing to do.

Sorry to hear about your boots though, it's so annoying when that happens...i've been there and got the tee shirt.

Ooh that sounds horrible, it's part of the reason I wear my flats to travel and heels when I get to work. Grids are evil things along with cracks in pavements.

    Glad the tribunal went well.
