I may cry

SoftKitty, 24 May, 2014 at 10:46 Posted on Planning 0 15

I was having a little wedding porn session, and stumbled across my dream shoes... which happen to be about £400 above budget. Somebody stop me before I end up selling a kidney or something to get them!

Wow they are lovely!! I cant help really as only spent £30 on my shoes but if you really want them could they be a gift to yourself?? You have a while to your wedding. You could spread the cost over the next year then wouldnt feel so bad? X

I might be able to do that, depends on whether we can move in with OH's friend for a bit or not. I think if I save up the majority my grandparents might sub a bit if I beg and plead. Never really occurred to me to do that, I've been too bust thinking about the venue and dress

Suuurely you can find something similar for less than that. It's not as if they're irregular choice or some brand where they are so unusual that you won't be able to find another brand with a similar style. Save or pin the pic and start searching!

You'll find a similar pair at a better price Smiley winking then get a tin of red paint lol - it's tough when something takes your eye and it's way over budget but keep in mind will you worry about spending the moeny on them. If not then do it, if so then don't. Nothing is worth causing money regret for. Shoes are hidden anyway, unless you're having tea length.

Totally agree, there are definitely shoes as pretty for much less money and unless you're wearing tea length they're about the least important part of the outfit. Even wearing tea length I only spent £40 and the reactions I've had to them you'd have thought I was wearing something much more expensive.

I think they're beautiful and unique. As a shoe-oholic I've not seen anything similar on the high street. If you really can't find a cheaper similar pair then I'd just buy them! You'll look and feel fabulous!

Agree with everyone else, they are very nice, but not so intricately different from anything else that you can't dupe it. I've actually seen people that have DIYed the soles of their shoes with nail varnish, and it looks surprisingly good! Although I'm sure you could find shoe-safe paint or something, (in this age of the internet, it's gotta be out there, right?) I dunno, I don't tend to spend more than £30 on shoes without feeling ripped off, but if I was spending >£400 on shoes, I'd want them to be a bit more spectacular than that...

    xoxo

This. They are lovely, make me think of the kind of thing Debbie Harry would have worn when Blodie began. Very glamorous.

Well your going to hate me but here goes, they are beautiful and how much your spent on your dress? I don't really want to know what you spent. But more than likely you will wear your dress once, these shoes you can wear again and again. I know their expensive I would break down how many times you would wear them and look at it that way.
