I need a Monkey...

Tracey86, 2 September, 2012 at 07:28 Posted on Planning 0 8

Not a real one of course!

Haha, has anybody seen any cute soft toy monkey's around anywhere that don't cost an absolute fortune but equally aren't cheap tack?

I thought this would be easy but it's not, I thought I'd get one from a card shop but apparently not.

This isn't totally OT as it's a pressie for OH's gift bag for the morning of the wedding, it's only a silly pressie because of a silly nickname that has developed over the years so I don't want to spend too much but I really don't want to give up on the idea either because it will make OH laugh.

Any suggestions hugely appreciated!

You may have already tried Amazon or Ebay but have just searched Ebay and there are a few on there, http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=cuddly+monkey&_sacat=0

What about a car boot, I know it would be second hand but soft toys can be quite expensive from new, and if it is just literally for the wedding morning and something that may get pushed to one side afterwards then maybe not worth spending so much.........

I have a Jellycat monkey, it was the first thing OH bought me. Three years later he used it as part of his proposal too. They are really soft! (both OH, and the monkey).

I bought my younger son a cuddly monkey before he was actually born. He loves his monkey & all things monkey. In fact he can be a little monkey himself sometimes. It's chewed & raggy now (he's just turned eight) but it was lovely & soft & cute when we got it. It was from Mothercare.

We've actually acquired quite a selection of monkeys over the years as they are his favourite animal, some cuter than others but can't remember where they came from, sorry.

Build A Bear is always good I have quite a few of these (OH is a big softie), you can also get outfits and record a short message to play when you squeeze him too, might be nice for the morning to get a recorded message?

In terms of outfits, there's a tuxedo outfit:

Thank you for the other suggestions too ladies I had already looked at build a bear but I'll get carried away on that site- it always happens because it's all so cute!

I'm still liking jellycat the best so think that might be the one. Will just have a goolge to find the cheapest place to buy him.

    Thanks all.
