I need a new veue now and in London.

roz_xx, 4 April, 2008 at 20:16 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi all, I am sure I am just a distant memory of some of you on here now and a stranger to the others!!! Havent been on in so long!

Well, Things have gone a bit haywire and we are having to change the wedding date and venue and everything pretty much!! It was suposed to be in 2 months in the Isles of Scilly, tiny and beautiful isands off the coast of cornwall. We are now going to have to do it in June next year and probably in London.

I loved planning first time round but having finished it all and been a bit relieved there wasnt to be too much more wedding stress its a bit of a bummer thinking that the whole process needs to start again!!

Anyway, the point of my post is this!! I am stuck on venues for in London. Dont like or know the area so wondered if anyone had any good places that would be worth looking at. Any help and idea's much appreciated!!!!

Roz. xx

    Hello stranger ?

I was thinking I've not 'seen' you here for ages ?

Not sure where to start with venues. Depends on numbers & price. There are some lovely buildings, or even restaurants that do weddings.

Good luck with your venue search

Kew gardens would be beautiful although you have to use their caterers and this gets expensive. I'm getting married in Richmond which is lovely and not to London like. There are loads of venues around this area -Ham house, Lensbury and lots of hotels.

    Hi Roz

How about this? We're doing a wedding here later in the year and it looks amazing - is just near the London Eye.

Have you tried checking out the London paper every friday - they do a feature on weddings each week - usually London ones.

I have been to a wedding at Kew and it was lovely, we had a ride on the little train in the middle of the day and they closed off the area around the venue so there were no tourists wandering by.

Other possibles for London (no idea of cost tho!): Tower Bridge, Eltham Palace (looks amazing if you like art deco style, almost convinced me to go for London despite being impractical for all the guests), one of the hotels in the middle - would be area for photos if you are by Hyde Park, art galleries?, stately home type places.

I know many venues to the north of London....It depends on how far you want to be outside of the centre. If interested, let me know and I will message you what IMO are the good ones.

The venue in Richmond Park is Pembroke Lodge. We have photographed a number of weddings there recently. Here are the links if you want to take a look.

If you are north west then how about Hampstead? We're getting married here:

Our reception is going to be in a pub nearby though. It's beautiful although depends on your numbers, max is 60.
