Here's the deal. Tomorrow we're going to finalise everything for the meal - seating plan included. I wouldn't have bothered with a seating plan but my mam is adament she wants to sit between her two grandsons, since she hasn't got my dad by her side any more. Which i can fully understand.
The table is a long straight table. There are 14 people to seat, however....the MIL2B's mother annoys pretty much everyone, even the MIL2B. So i really don't know who to sit her next to.
Ideally i wanted me and h2b facing eachother, which would mean 3 people either side of us, which is fine. H2B's family outweighs my family and guests. There are 4 on my side and 8 on his side. So it's very unbalanced.
At the end of the day i feel i should put the grandmother where i want because it's not my fault that she's so damned irritating! but i also don't want them sat near my son or nephew as the boys can be shy and would feel out of their depth.
Heres the people
Bride
Groom
Jane (mil2b)
john (fil2b)
brenda (my mam)
brandon (my son)
nathan (nephew)
cat (my best friend and witness) - attending on her own, no partner
lee (best man) - engaged to below
nat (best mans fiancee) - engaged to above
ann (the grandmother) - married to below
terry (the grandad) - married to above
betty (h2bs auntie) married to below
rodger (h2b's uncle) married to above
I just can't get my head around it, as i don't want to split couples up, and this is seriously doing my head in. I have to get it done today. H2B is of no use on this matter....HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP
Any suggestions welcome. Even if the table isn't one long table, but i would like them all joined. Reason for the long table is it leads on from the door we would enter room by, and at the other end of the table is a beautiful fireplace, so the long table looks nice.
Please help and put your suggestions down here. I wouldn't mind, but my first marriage i seated 35 people with no problems at all!
