I'm a few days late like 4 days. We've got kids already, some of them grown up. I need to take a pregnancy test.

As some one who has tried for another child for years (due to medical issues) I can tell you:

    A) that yes, yes you can get packs from poundland, both cassette style (£1 for 1) or dip stick (£1 for 2) also savers sell multipacks cheep as do all pharmacies ive ever been too, there only about £5 from most supermarkets too

    B) there are many specific forums for this including baby center, countdown to pregnancy and baby & bump

    C) pregnancy tests are free at clinics and doctors surgeries

    D) 4 days is completely normal spread

this is a very bizzare post made more so by past posts ?

I know this is the internet but damn OP your posts come across completely emotionless! (especially taking into account the subject matter).

Not a smilie, dotdotdot or exclamation mark in sight!

I agree with the above, odd indeed.

    This. Blatant attention seeking.

"Ok, i'll take a test then"...like if it wasn't for a group of strangers on a forum telling you this you'd carry on without ?

Yeah I too don't see the point of this thread. OP has grown up kids herself she says so can't really not know that she should take a test.

I can't imagine she'd be re-posting to inform you all if she's read through many of your replies ?

I don't really understand why so many people have been so negative. If you don't like the post, just ignore it. If you think it is is attention seeking, why give attention? This all smacks of bullying and being mean for the sake of it. Maybe it was not the best place to announce it and maybe it was odd but I am rapidly seeing a different side to this forum aside from the helpful responses.

Some of you are acting like teenagers on facebook. It leave a nasty taste.

Thank you for proving my point. Yes, I can gauge it as I am able to read. I have spent a long time on various forums over the years and this sort of thing seems to creep in. The snidey comments on this thread and the snappy and negative responses to other threads in some cases are what I am basing it on.

It is a real shame as the majority of the threads and posters are helpful and supportive and it can be a great place for advice and ideas. (if I am allowed to comment on that given that I don't have many posts ? )

Seriously?! Seeing a whole different side?! OP announces that she thinks she may be upduffed, only 4 days late for her period yet doesnt do a test... Were people supposed to be all 'there there hun'?

Hurrah! We haven't had the 'bullying' word bandied around for at least a week.

i was worried I was pregnant (otters will recall my map post a few weeks back.) I took a test. I wasn't. Life carried on as normal.

I think the main issue here would be that a, this is a wp board so the list would seem out of context. B, regular users would normally prefix any bAby related post with bt as it's an emotive subject which is reflected by some of the posts. Whilst I appreciate the title gives it away it's common courtesy to fit in with a communities rules.

Fully agree about it not being the right place for it and the fitting in with the rules and/or conventions of the board. It is just a shame people were so negative and felt the need to ridicule rather than ignoring.

So what do you suggest? If someone behaves badly/doesn't play by the rules, they deserve to be pulled up on it. That's how it works here. If you don't like it, I believe there's a forum on Confetti in which everyone agrees with you all of the time. Perhaps that's more what you're after?

For BT issues, there is Mumdrum. That's where this belongs.

I don't see that anyone ridiculed. And I don't agree that by ignoring the matter it would go away as you are suggesting? If you don't know you are breaking the standards how cd. You modify your behaviour?

I have to say, I don't see anyone bullying here. Looking back, it was a pointless off topic post, which might have been alright on the OT board(though would have had similar responses re pointlessness), but not for the wedding planning forum. Just because you're engaged doesn't mean absolutely everything in your life should go onto a wedding forum. It's easy enough to find a pregnancy forum on which to share these kinds of things. Though still, I think responses would be the same: take a test, what's the point posting until you take a test? This is not bullying.

Advised that this is not the right place for it is not the same as being mocked.

I am fully aware that people don't agree all the time and this is me not agreeing with how this was handled. Simple as that. ?

    This.
There was no bullying or ridiculing.
Just people being honest which on a public forum is to be expected.
