I think i've found my dress!

AniaF, 19 July, 2010 at 14:47 Posted on Planning 0 14

This was quite unexpected really as I wasn't going to this particular shop to look for my wedding dress but for something to wear to a wedding we've been invited to next month. It's a bit different to what I was expecting, but I tried it on and i'm probably going to go back and buy it tomorrow. Only problem is that it'll need quite a bit of altering, as even the smallest size they do is a bit too big for me, but then i've got a few dresses from this shop so I was expecting that.

I should probably post a link, so here it is: https://www.vivienofholloway.com/women-c70/dresses-c10 would love to hear opinions on it or if anyone is having something similar.

It's gorgeous! Have you thought about putting a coloured petticoat and shoes with it? I think someone on here did that recently and it looked brilliant Smiley smile

I love Vivien Holloway...such stunning dresses. Wow you must be a right skinny mini though because I'm a 12 and tried on a dress once by her in a 16 and could barely squeeze myself into it! The lady reasured me they come up small but obv she was lying to make me feel better! ?

That's a gorgeous dress. I also agree with the idea about putting a different coloured petticoat underneath, I think it would look fab. x

It is really nice. I love the 1950's style. Never heard of the designer - but I have added it to my favourites. She has some gorgeous stuff.

    Very nice ?

I love it, so different and so fabulous. I really want someone to throw a party so I can get the red and white polka dot one!

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone Smiley smile I was a bit worried that some people might say that it's not a wedding dress if it's not floor length. I'm definitely considering having coloured accessories, i'm hunting online for a suitable pair of purple sandals now as that was what I was planning on anyway, but apart from that I don't have any real ideas as i'm a bit useless at putting together outfits.

I think it's really nice and I don't think these days a wedding dress has to be that standard white floor lenght thing - I would much prefer something that suits the brides personality!

My stepmom married in a Purple Velvet / satin corset backed dress - looovely and not a "wedding dress" haha.

    Love it, love it!

If you worried about the size, I think she makes bespoke dresses for not a huge lot more. Might be worth considering?
