I want a tattoo

Chicken, 13 December, 2008 at 14:32 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 19

But

a) I'm far too old to pass it off as something I did when I was young and foolish and

b) I don't know what I want. Which has to mean it's a bad idea, no?

As twattish as this is going to sound I'm thinking something QPR related. I've always loved my boys. Not the crest though. I thought about the year they were formed. It's pathetic and I need to grow up, right?

My only advice would be to wait until you know exactly what it is you want. I uhhmed and ahhed over my tattoo for 6 years, eventually I told a friend what I wanted and she designed it for me . I trotted off to the very reputable Tattooist and 10 years down the line I still love it, and have never regretted getting it done. The fact no one else has the same tattoo as me is quite special too.

You could have the QPR Gnome on your right butt cheek.

But I've waited and waited and thought and thought. And I still don't know what I want. You know me and decision making.

You could have a small square of blue and white stripes somewhere no one else can see it?

    (Hoops, not stripes)

I thought maybe a blue and white hooped star somewhere. I need to think more. Our new crest is awful. Maybe the one from the 80s would work.

Do you have any artist friends? They could design something based on the crest, hoops and whatever animal the mascot is. (Is there an animal?)

Mr M put an eagle on his football boots - he's not brave enough for a tattoo!

I would get something designed chooky. A good designer could encorporate things you like.

    Tattoo. <wince>

I dislike tattoos as most of the ones I see are crap. I think they're common (and chav).

My father has a number of them including his beloved Spurs emblem on his upper arm. He's also got [TweeTwat/] 'mum' [TweeTwat/] and his wife's and childrens names. Oh and a topless hula girl. Nice.

Bro's got a grim reaper type thing and the QPR emblem on one arm and a celtic thing on the other (like Robbie Williams but bro had it first). He's a big bloke so it works.

Sis has a small celtic design on her lower back and it's probably one of the nicest tattoos I've seen (though I cried when she told me she got one). It's quite discreet and 'classic' looking.

I think you should go for a topless Hula Girl. Classy.

Well we have a tiger striped cat called Spark as our mascot. The Superhoops is our nickname as the Eagles is theirs. Doesn't particularly help.

<runs to hide under table to avoid the fallout> ?

I don't mind really nice ones but I hate cheap, badly drawn (or is it inked?) ones. My friend has a cartoon like thistle on her shoulder and my SiL has a cartoon dragon on her stomach, both are awful and won't age well. Another friend's A (her initial) from the Book of Kells is beautiful.

I knew a girl who had a jellybaby on her stomach. Like a jellybaby wasn't bad enough it actually looked like the red telly tubby.

Me too, but I'm with you on number 2 - ie what to have. Although I love Fearne Cotton's tattoo on her foot....

I took my daughter for henna tattoos yesterday and love them - also love the fact that they will fade in 2 weeks (please excuse the rough nail polish!).

Edited cause much as I like the henna, I don't need 3 pics of it....

Kelly Osbourne's skulls are vile, dude! Imagine having those on your feet when you're 60?

Emmanumbers, I don't think tattoos are common, that's quite rude. I think bad tattoos are bad tattoos, and in my experiece it's usually people who are a bit thick that have bad ones.

? I think I'll be wearing sensible lace up shoes when I'm 60 so it wouldn't really matter.
