Ibiza

Who was it that went to Ibiza? Was it CB? or Mrs C?

Any recommendations ladies? My Nan said that it was her favourite of all the balerics (she's not into clubbing, I hasten to add) and that we should go there. We're looking at booking somewhere in late Sept, so it doesnt have to be spain. I think 500quid each would be the max.

I went there on a hen weekend. We stayed in playa de bossa (sp?) which was nice enough. It's a beautiful island and not all clubs, there are quiet areas too.

Ooh I love Ibiza... Lived there for a bitSmiley smile Santa Eulalia in the north is lovely and about an hour away from San Antonio, it's got lovely spas, markets etc. Playa de'n Bossa is a really good place to stay as its quite central; near the airport, cultural and clubbing, a bit of everything really. It's near Ibiza town, which is great for a visit(amazing restaurants) but is a harbour town so you won't find hotels on the beach here. Cala gracio and cala tarida are small little resorts in the south so you get the gorgeous beaches and sunsets with authentic restaurants that are off the tourist path but still only 15 minutes from San Antonio and playa de'n bossa. Hope that helps Smiley smile

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ibiza!! Although not been for years!

If you want a more quiet relaxing holiday stay in the old town or hire a villa in the hills, if you want be in the thick of it San Antonio is your place.!

Do it!!!! Honestly, it's one of the nicest places in Europe for a holiday. We normally stay in talamamca, as it has a lovely beach which is normally a good mix of nationalities (including the locals) which means you don't get that Brits abroad feeling. It's also only 5 mins from Ibiza town which is just gorgeous and full of restaurants and bars, plenty of people watching to be had and shopping too. There are some beautiful restaurants, bars, and scenery. Also plenty of beautiful people to look at whilst you're at it!

We married there in a tiny village called st Josep, there ate loads of little villages and towns to see, so try and hire a car too so that you can see some if the things the tourists don't normally get to see.

There are plenty of hippies still living on Ibiza, and on a Sunday night they gather on a beach called benniras and watch the sunset, whilst playing bongos and dancing around semi naked! It's well worth seeing!!! Plus there's a great pizza place on that beach which is mega cheap and amazing!!! Do it!!!

I'm not really a clubber, more into the food and culture. Thanks ladies, I will relay to H when I see him and then get booking!

I went for a fortnight when I was 18, just when the whole Ministry of Sound/Cream/Manumission/etc was at the height of its popularity. I spent two weeks and many hundreds of pounds on illegal substances, didn't get a suntan and was ill for six weeks when I got home.

Ditto this, OH and I had our first abroad holiday together here and it was lovely. IIRC there were a few cheesy touristy bars, but our hotel was right on the beach and half board with incredible food.
