Ibiza Hotel Suggestions...Mrs Imp?

*gnashers*, 30 December, 2013 at 17:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

...so not only was I put in charge of a laptop, I have also been put in charge of looking into next year's holidays.

We are doing a trip over to Europe on H's parents boat (not as posh as it sounds, I promise), and we want to do a four day beach/sun break at the end of it. Well I do, because being in a confined space with H's parents for a week may well drive me bananas.

It's a bit of logistical PITA as we need to fly from Holland to wherever we go, and then back to London. After a lot of pi$$ing about with flights, Ibiza is looking like a good bet, so I'm running with that for now.

We want something quiet and relaxing, with good food, and not in any of the clubby areas.

We have a budget of about £200 a night (including breakfast).

Any suggestions you lovely lot?

200 quid a night for the two of you? It four of you?

Do you want to be able to walk to restaurants and bars or are you happy to taxi it? Do you like small hotels or big ones?

Would rather be able to walk to be honest.

I can up the budget to £300 per room per night (one room for two of us), as we've had to change flights about a bit.

Sorry, one more question- which month? That'll make a huge difference to the prices of hotels.

I used to holiday regularly in Es Cana and stayed at the Ereso hotel. Haven't been for 10 years but it still gets fab reviews.

Talamamca is lovely, it's walking distance to ibiza town which in June will be lovely for meals out. The old town is beautiful and full if walkways and terraces with traditional little restaurants and bars. There are also a couple of old squares down at the bottom surrounded by bars, but bars that the locals drink in rather than ravers.

In talamanca itself there is a nice beach and a few beach bars and restaurants. It's a mixed vibe, not full of Brits but people from all over.

We've stayed in the Argos and the Simbad. Both hotels are Spanish hotels with a lovely breakfast. Of the 2 the Argos has a better location and nicer rooms. It's at the tip of talamanca and the marina so you've got the best of both worlds.

There are also the corso- not sure on price in June but it's always been too expensive for us. The ibiza gran is gorgeous but I expect it might be too expensive. I would do a search on all of them, see what you like the look of and can get in budget.

If you want even quieter than that, then the north of the island would be good. But it I'd very quiet and in my opinion ibixa town is so gorgeous it's worth being near to there.

I went in June 2012 on a hen weekend and whilst the hotel was OK I probably wouldn't stay there as a couple. We went to watch the sunset from Cafe Del Mar which was gorgeous and then had dinner in the Villa Mercedes restaurant which was just a short walk from there - was some of the most gorgeous food I have ever eaten!!!

Once you've booked if you want recommendations for restaurants, bars or other things to do then give me a shout.

Agree - been there twice and both times it was great!

i cannot recommend a hotel though sadly as every time I've been it's been a drunken girly trip - off again in June! <mutton>
