I really want to have an ice cream trike at our wedding but having a bit of a dilemma where to fit it in and make it worth the money – it would cost us £270. Trouble is we’ve already arranged our catering: canapés with welcome drinks between 3-4pm, then a BBQ at 5pm followed by our wedding cake for dessert. Then in the evening about 9pm ish we’re having cheese, biscuits and chutney etc. Now we could have ice cream instead of canapés, but then that’s having something sweet before something savoury, which seems wrong to me. I don’t want to have both either, as I’d like to avoid too much wastage. I think 9pm is too late for people to want ice cream, which means the other options are either a) serve ice cream as dessert instead of the cake and put out the cake with the cheese and biscuits instead, or b) offer people an option of ice cream or cake as pud, or c) give up trying to justify ice cream and do without!
I’m leaning towards option a but then that’s an expensive cake if no-one eats it!
What would you do?
