Ideas for a hen do at home please!

EAC13, 20 April, 2013 at 19:59 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi Ladies,

Putting my own wedding aside...I'm needing to organise a hen do for a friend who finds it difficult to go out due to health issues. She still wants a proper hen do though and thankfully my house is big enough. Any suggestions as to what to organise? Perhaps cocktail making at home or something? What would you suggest

Thanks in advance!

Depending if this is the sort of thing your friend likes, you could set up an afternoon tea in the afternoon (with cake stands, pretty napkins etc).

There is also a company called The Pamper Party that come to your house - which could take place instead of a spa day. You could also buy lots of face masks! http://www.thepamperparty.co.uk/

Cocktail making is a fab idea too!

If the friend likes craft stuff, perhaps get someone who can teach you how to make jewellery or fascinators for the wedding? All the girls can make something themselves for the wedding so it ends up having some use! It shouldn't break the budget either!

Another idea! How about a make up or hair styling party? Again a useful thing to do as can be used again in the future!

You could bake and decorate cupcakes if you're into that kind of thing...have a big Singstar karaoke session....dvd marathon....make your own jewellery or design t-shirts to wear etc

All fab ideas, thank you! Perhaps need to find a way to incorporate them all into one big day! She feels very deflated not being able to go out for it but I think having a day/evening like this will really cheer her up Smiley smile

    Depends what she is into?

    - Buy a few kg's clay & make things

    - Get one of those pop-up spray tanning booths & let everyone have a tan

    - Buy a bulk pkt of loo roll & everyone has to make a wedding dress using the rolls

    - Have a quiz on how well you know the couple or the hen

    - Quiz on funny/odd wedding traditions from around the world

    - You can hire a naked/semi-naked butler to serve drinks/nibbles

    - It could also be a dress up with themes like: 1980's, 1970's, funniest charity shop BM dress, bad taste, pink ladies from Grease etc

    - Have a movie night. Make popcorn & watch her favourite movie. You can also hire those blow up screens for the garden

    - Hire a hot tub for the garden

    - Pass the parcel with little chocs or pampering products in each layer then a hen present in the centre

    - Have a clairvoyant give everyone a reading

    - Murder mystery night & you dress as your character

    - Hire a florist for a flower arranging session
